I hope that the garbage on Madison with the Smilers deli is redeveloped.

It's incredibly beautiful, though that's an edited photo of what it will look like once complete.

Some of the finishing details could've been a bit better, but that's more than made up for by the graceful proportions & perfect massing. It's fantastic to finally see this one finished(-ish).

Random question, but is the glass (like the cladding) supposed to get lighter as it gets closer to the top? Hoping the random darker glass towards the top (near that area they haven't covered up yet) matches the glass at the very top!

This tower is one of my favorates in new york, I don't so much prefer the side view of the tower though I like the view facing the park it looks more slender and nice. too bad it was shortened from 350 meters

i forget but is nouvel also designing the interiors, like he did for the vision machine apt building in chelsea?

or maybe it's an option to have the interiors designed by him?

i cant imagine they would force that on the more super wealthy tenants of this tower as they did downtown.

Nouvel is not doing the interiors. There was a video posted a while back where he said that's his greatest regret about the tower.

Unfortunately, this tower is 949 feet too short...

Guess we'll just have to be happy that it has some presence on the skyline.

It's like the Chrysler Building. Not the tallest, but more beautiful than anything near it.

I like to think of it as our modern Chrysler.
