Looks like about 8-10 Redwood trees planted. I guess about 20-22 more to go.

^ Glad these are already fairly large. The dawn redwood (Metasequoia) I had in my yard several years ago started much smaller than these, but grew very quickly, for which dawn redwoods are known. So it won't take long for these to get significantly bigger than they already are.

Not much. But they are advertising for residential, office, and retail tenants for 3025 JFK, a building that doesn't yet exist.

Same with the Laurel. They haven't even begun digging.

The Laurel is messed up. Playing with our emotions like that is not cool one bit! LOL.

Seriously, do we know who the GC is on this project? Maybe someone that works for them has the inside scoop on what is causing the delays.

Moving these huge trees is a painstaking effort but awesome to see. Will be a huge improvement to the setting and environment.

Interesting choice of trees as these Dawn Redwoods are unique in that they are conifers (needle-like leaves with cones) .Most conifers are evergreens but this Dawn Redwood is an anomaly that it loses its leaves every year.

These will look great in a month or 2. Personally I would have went with evergreens(Spruce,Cedar,Fir)as they add color during the bleak winter months.

The bigger they grow and the more mature they get, the trunks and branches take a very unique shape. Older dawn redwoods look majestic. And when snow falls on them and outlines them, it looks amazing.

I think they made a very good choice. Unless you are in an arboretum, you don't see dawn redwoods that often. The ones you mention are a dime a dozen. Here's a sample of what they look like when they get much bigger.

Evergreens are A Dime a dozen in the mountains or upscale suburbia but not in the city.

These are awesome trees no doubt but I wouldnt be opposed to seeing the city plant hundreds of evergreens to help offset the wintertime dreariness in the city.

True. I was thinking in a city park setting as well. But for city streets, the list I see from the city is deciduous trees as street trees. No evergreens on streets. Although it doesn't prevent a homeowner or a business with a courtyard or enough land to plant one, but again I think most evergreens get pretty big and the needles and cones can be a nuisance on neighbors and maintenance is more troubling than leaves.

Not the same. The Laurel seems plagued by issues I don't have a window into, but it at least has comprehensive building plans, various permits, and tenant commitments. This building is basically a drawing on the back of a napkin.

If you recall, the last Brandywine quarterly earnings alluded to having significant leasing commitments (like 750k sq ft or more - can’t remember). I also recall them saying they wanted to start 2 buildings by 2020. All that to say I’m surprised to not see 3003 JFK advertised on this redesigned website when it was previously reported it would be their first build out.

Could that tower be 100% spoken for?! How great would that be!

Whoa! Low slung, but eye popping on the red. This seems like a good place to hang out when the weather is nice. And, love those trees!

Check your living room. And now, YOU control the remote.
