Since you haven't included a date with your data tables I guess I will point out that those numbers are from over a decade and two census cycles ago. NB is a far more diverse place now than then, particularly when including the Syrian refugees who began arriving in 2015.

That photo may have been misleading. There were more than a couple of dozen Sikhs marching down Main Street in Shediac that day. There were several hundred, complete with floats and banners. It was an honest to goodness parade.

The Sikh population in NB (and Atlantic Canada) is far larger than what is listed in the table you supplied. Several thousands at least. It is not uncommon to see turbans around Moncton.

The temple they are building will be sort of the mother temple for the Atlantic region. This is why it will be relatively large.
I think i just have to factory reset my impression of Sikh parades in the rest of Canada and realize that they're just extraordinary small in other cities in comparison to BC.
Surrey's Vaisakhi celebration in 2019 attracted half a million people, which simply isn't going to happen in other provinces.

https://globalnews.ca/news/8764591/v...al-since-2019/

Calgary's Nagar Kirtan Parade in that city's northeast does get almost 100,000 though I think.

https://ca.style.yahoo.com/calgarys-...110000301.html

But smaller cities like Saskatoon barely get 10,000 at their Sikh parades,

https://thestarphoenix.com/news/loca...-sikh-religion

Places like Timmins or the maritimes biggest Sikh parade getting a couple hundred members made up of a few dozen Sikh families is probably a big accomplishment for the new Sikh communities there.

Was curious about this place and looked it up. Their permit for the beach was declined for 2022 since people are supposed to leave the beach after the service and pay for parking or admission or something after if they want to stay at the beach. Of course, lots of people would ignore that and just stay so the town said no more of that.

From their site:

Ottawa's Saint Brigid Church in the ByWard Market, built in 1890, has been bought by a group that is definitely "not" part of the "Freedom" movement . The group is called the "United People of Canada" and despite what they say, have strong affiliations with the "Freedom" people.

Prior to the purchase, the Church was a Arts and culture centre and home to the National Irish Canadian Cultural Centre ad includes a 699 seat concert hall and Irish pub in the basement, along with the rectory next door.

Went to KWC, Ayr and Brantford a couple of days ago. First time I went into Downtown Kitchener. Drove around mostly but walked around in the Heritage District and Market District.

I know there's lots of mention of all the buildings going up in Kitchener but it didn't mean much to me. After having been there for a little bit, I must say, I was impressed. Impressed a lot by the places of worship too.

Just to note that the first pic in your post is St Matthews Lutheran, not Benton St Baptist, which is a large 1960s brick building a block away. The picture labelled Trinity United is also St Matthews Lutheran. Trinity was demolished a couple of years ago for the DTK condo tower and the congregation now shares space in St Matthews Lutheran. Two modernist Kitchener churches by local architects that are often commented on are Highland Baptist and Carmel New Church.

Good catches. You might have a field day with mislabelled places/wrong location pics on google maps. When I am perusing google maps for some info or idea of things to do, every once in a while I see a mislabelled place or wrong spelling or a pic that has nothing to do with the place. I click on report problem, click a couple boxes and submit. I can't help myself lol.

That Carmel one you mention I saw it listed as in Waterloo somewhere and was going to post that later on so you saved me the trouble.

When I drive through these places I notice a bunch of interesting places of worship and feel compelled to post. Then I go down a rabbit hole because I feel like I have to share the others I didn't see. But google maps doesn't show them all when you search for "church". That even happens sometimes when I'm zoomed in on a neighbourhood.

Hopefully the above is now accurate.

The Living Water Wayside Chapel is an interesting sight in the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada. It was built in 1964 by the Christian Reformed Church. It is the smallest church in Canada and is also claimed by some to be the smallest in the world. No bigger than a one-car garage, it has become a destination for visitors who are encouraged to stop for photographs and prayers.

The Pope in Alberta today.
Too bad he avoided Kamloops where this all began but at least he came to Canada.

Another pretty one for Niagara. Anglican churches are so clutch. When you want to see an attractive church, Anglican is the most reliable. Port Dalhousie in St. Catharines.

I meant to reply to this a while back. This looks straight out of India. Quite impressive.

i was told that it is not all that unusual on PEI to hear that 'if you can move it, it yours...' Little doubt that the Long River church is now seeing more activity than it has in many years in it's reincarnation as a burger joint in a village re-creation in Cavandish.

The nice church of Saint-Christophe in Arthabasca (Victoriaville), an area that is worth a little detour.

I finally remembered to get some shots of St.Mary's Anglican in Vancouver's Kerrisdale neighbourhood. One of my favourite Vancouver churches.

Originally built in 1913 by Sharp & Thompson with later extensions. It's funny, many sources describe it as in the style of an English village church but any village church there is going to be built of stone not wood. This is a very good example of North American Arts & Crafts though.
