It seems like such a concentration of the buildings. I've only driven through part of Saint John (and not the core, but the highway skirting it all, after taking the ferry from Digby NS) but clearly it deserves a day-long walkabout.
A number of those old gals look like they can use a bit of sprucing up. Has that been happening? Are they generally in good condition inside, such that the outsides aren't much of a worry? Here in Hamilton we continue to see similarly scaled buildings getting makeovers, but in many cases the innards have to be gutted as part of the process and the latest redevelopments tend to have modern additions.
