I won’t be holding my breath. Either ONR purchases that AND HCR, or it does neither.

ACR has more of a draw as if the Ring of Fire ferrocromite smelter is built in SSM, it can be used to bring it in. HCR doesn't have as high of the draw. So, I would say it may do both, or just ACR. Besides, HCR is not connected to the ONR anywhere. ACR is in Hearst and is connected to the ONR.

If you were to look at all of that, it is clear that if one is being saved by the ONR, the ACR wins.

This will be very cool.

The passenger train between the Sault and Hearst has not run since July 2015. Missanabie Cree First Nation has taken the lead on an to attempt to renew passenger rail service along the ACR, and has been in negotiations with CN Rail and Transport Canada since 2017.
One possibility would be for the Missanabie Cree First Nation to purchase it. There has been several first nations communities to start operating rail services that serve their interests.

Now that is an interesting solution. Will they have the money to operate it or will they need a subsidy?

If they don't, maybe it is one more reason that the ONR buys it up. After all, they currently operate a rail line to serve a FN at Moose Factory.

I wonder if adding a 2nd disconnected passenger line will be another reason to reestablish the Northlander....

Does make me wonder, if the ONR buys it, will they rebrand everything? I hope not. I love the colour scheme.

I'll bet if they push hard enough they might get something. Maybe a Sudbury-SSM-Hearst-Cochrane route. If the maintenance could be improved to break the 25mph on the HCR, this could be done in a day. Just imagine 3 trains servicing Cochrane.....

I usually use imgur to store the photos first. Then you right click to get the address of the photo. Then you do .

I adore CP's old paint scheme! one thing I want to do before I die is take the Royal Canadian Pacific somewhere - the rolling stock alone is reason enough.

https://www.luxurytrainclub.com/trains/royal-canadian-pacific/

It's also kinda funny to think that CP needed permission from Her Majesty to use the word Royal for their tourist train

I just saw someone drive a private vehicle on the gravel road right next to CN Doncaster Subdivision between John Street and Green Lane in Thornhill. I was like, “Lol, if someone from CN catches you, you’re through.”
I actually saw a CN vehicle drive on it before that private vehicle. < 5 minutes later, another CN vehicle popped by.
