Conservatism and likeability don't really sit well together. You want likeable, the NDP's your bet.

English public high school teachers are on strike for a day if an agreement isn't reach. It's those who are part of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF). Also part of that union are Educational Assitants, Early Childhood Educators and other support workers at both Elementary and Secondary public levels and also in many (but not all) other boards (French, Catholic) who will also be on strike on Wednesday.

Assuming the strike goes ahead, here in Timmins, the English public and French Catholic boards are affected but the English Catholic and French public board are not.

Ford needs to go. Mulroney’s been tainted by him big time so she needs to go too. Funny enough, I haven’t heard much from Elliot.

After all it’s a blessing in disguise for Brown because now he won’t be associated with these bozos.

I'm trying to analyze the situation here:
Before provincial election 2018, the famous ones in ONPC (aka Christine Elliot, Caroline Mulroney) knew (or at least believed) that the financial state of the province needed addressing, but they didn't wanna stain their names, so they propped up Doug Ford.

Obviously as it stands right now, Ford takes most of the hit, but miscalculations have also dragged Mulroney through the mud.

In late 2020 or early 2021, the insiders will somehow get Ford to step down so ONPC can put on new faces and new policies in hope of getting re-elected for another term. Essentially, Ford is like a piece of cloth that one uses to wipe the table after all the mess then tosses after.

Thoughts?

As for Hamilton Centre, this can also be a blessing (though probably more of a curse than a blessing). This whole LRT fiasco will be the (ultimate) litmus test of Andrea Horwath's competency. I guess it remains to see how she's going to oppose this funding cut. If she does poorly, it's a clear sign that ON NDP needs a new leader and that Hamilton Centre needs another NDP candidate.

What about Patrick Brown breaking rank with PC altogether and starting his own centrist party? I wanna see what it’s like to split votes from both centre left and centre right. I’m just coming with hypothetical situations here.

Otherwise I agree though. None of the major 3 are any good.

Andrea has always been a strong supporter of Hamilton's LRT. She will "fight like hell" to get LRT back.

A premier is perhaps all-powerful, but he doesn't just give orders. He also takes questions.

That's part of his job description. In our democracy it's what makes our leaders accountable to the people — not just on election days, but every day in between.

NDP hasn't won an election under her yes, but the NDP has won more and more seats with her as leader.

Then again a major reason why the NDP is the official opposition this time around is the Liberal collapse in the 2018 election.

If she can continue to boost the NDP's seat count and/or popular vote share, I'm sure she can stay on as leader. She is the most experienced / veteran leader in the province now.

I don't think the Ontario NDP will ever form government again until all the boomers die off. Too many from that generation will never get rid of the bad taste they left (although it wasn't entirely their fault due to the 1990's recession).

I'd like to see someone like Catherine McKenna run for Liberal leadership. With Ford doing so badly in polls a new Liberal leader has more than a 50/50 chance of being the next Premier.
