Thank you. I respectfully disagree with the notion that all non-LA images are, by definition, wholly unrelated to the subject and thus verboten. In the interest of "getting along," the complained-of images have been deleted. The links to the images were left intact, should anyone care to view them and explore further.
Like so many of the posted images, demarcation lines for this "thread" are gray and ill defined. Lest one forget, the geographic connection is obvious from the thread title, "Noirish Los Angeles," but, as you note, there are plenty of extra-geographical image exceptions. Many of those images provoked further discovery leading to an LA-noir-nexus and an LA-noir image. Depending upon who is wearing the referee (moderator) costume, it is easy to stray off of any "perceived" field. Setting aside pure geographical content, it is
now unclear whether that playing field should exclude an LA photo that fails to satisfy some ill defined test of "noirishness." Same with images that are primarily posted for entertainment value or comic relief.
Can noir be funny?
For some, posting an image (assuming it existed) of Sister Aimee holding hands with an individual resembling Mayor Shaw - at the Eiffel Tower, might apparently be way out of bounds. Should I locate such an image, I shall think twice about posting it here.
