I've recently purchased a place close to here and I'm quite excited to see it be fleshed out and completed. It will be nice to have even more retail in this area.

There is a Baker Dr. in Middle Sackville and a Baker Dr in Dartmouth as well.

[Halifax] Stonehaven (Rockingham) | ? m | 2x5FL | Proposed

New proposal for the ~3 acre vacant property at Dunbrack Street & Wentworth Drive in Rockingham.

The applicant is looking to rezone the property to R-2T (Townhouses) and R-4 (Multi-Unit). 10 townhouses would line Wentworth Drive with individual front entries and rear driveways from a central courtyard. On the southern and western end of the site boardering Dunbrack Street and the Rockingham South development will be two 5 storey residential buildings (93 units total) with shared underground parking and central lobby and amenity space. It will be home to ~277 people which works out to ~75 people per acre.

The proposal is just for the rezoning and not a development agreement which means the applicant is tied to the land-use bylaws but not the specific plans shown in the application.

Some of those units will have good views of the roundabout follies courtesy of HRM and local drivers.

The building at 172 Wentworth is now "Deco Suites". The concrete structure is almost complete.

That is a really, really neat design. Would be neat to see this whole area get a little more commercially dense.

Some photos I took yesterday, the one building has quite the checkerboard of paneling. based on renderings, that will only last a floor or so.

The hotel proposal has been revised. The proponent now wants flexibility to whether its a hotel (74 rooms) or an apartment building (76 units).

Site fencing is up around the site at Wentworth/Dunbrack. This originated as a separate, adjacent development, but I believe was purchased by W.M Fares. It was a bit of a pit that was filled in, so site work should be fast. It is 3, 5 storey buildings.

^ I found the thread for the Wentworth/Dunbrack project. It's called Stonehaven and was Case #20983. There was no discussion in the thread (just the OP by me) so I've merged it into this thread.

Since the Rockingham South project is almost fully built I'm wondering if we should repurpose this thread to act as a discussion place for the neighbouring area. There are threads for Bedford South, Bedford West, Fairview, and Mount Royale so if we go ahead the new title will be;

[Halifax] Clayton Park Developments & Discussion Thread

The clear boundaries would be Bedford Basin - Hemlock Ravine Park - Highway 102. I consider anything accessed off Main Avenue to be Fairview so anything north of that would be discussed here except the major projects like 214 Willett Street and Seton Ridge. This would encompass the areas of Clayton Park, Clayton Park West, Rockingham and Wedgewood. Is everyone okay with this plan?

Looks like they’ve received a self-checkout convenience store:

There also appears to be an Indian restaurant: “Bombay Bistro Pizza and Indian Cuisine”.

Apparently this is being planned. Not sure if it's been discussed before:

Looks like this may be where the 5 story apartments/town homes were previous proposed? It's surrounded by fencing now.
