Does anyone know the groundbreaking date for Liberty sky???

What on earth is taking so long for them to get started???

Have they run into problems getting the project off the ground??

Probably just waiting for construction permits. From what I understand that can be a lengthy process in Salt Lake City.

I heard it was supposed to be near the end of summer. So late Q3/early Q4.

The developers at Liberty Sky can pull their permit at any time and have been able to since early June. I'm not sure why there's a hold up.

Salt Lake Is one of the dozen metros he uses as an example. Choose city by button in upper left corner and it will cycle through all squares for the area by decreasing density.

I think I once saw a map of Salt Lake City proper by census tract showing heaviest population in area roughly State to A / South Temple to Fourth Ave but that comes out about 6th in this grid. Will let you discover number one.

Minor development news:

A permit has been requested for selective demolition of areas of the Convention Center and the plaza area for the Convention Center Hotel.

The request is found here.

Also, most of the permit requests for Liberty Sky are listed as either Need Info or In For Review. The last request was on June 21st.

A tower review process back and forth with SLC will take in excess of six months at a minimum.

Just found out Sapa Group bought the Bank of Utah location at 700 S State Street. They are building quite the fiefdom on that stretch. Their Food Alley project is actively recruiting tenants BTW if you know anybody.

There was a building permit application months ago for a Louis Vuitton at City Creek, so I'm sure it's true. No idea what used to be there. I thought all the spaces had been filled as of this spring.

It’s located just to the right side (north side) of the main entrance to Nordstrom from the central plaza in the interior of the block. I guess it's going where the Chico's store was, which has relocated.

Why does it say on the Jacobsen Construction website that Liberty Sky is 25 stories even though the original plan was 24 stories which was brought down to 21 stories http://www.jacobsenconstruction.com/...ky-apartments/ I also swear it used to say 21 stories on this website and now they changed it to 25. Maybe I'm just confused idk

This is good news. Hopefully they have a really interesting project planned for that.

I can't wait to see State Street transform over the next 5+ years.
