Interesting. It's a big excavation site, so a seven storey building (with underground parking) is believable.

There is now a large Acadian Construction sign on site, so there is more than just the moving of earth going on..........

There is construction fencing up and excavation underway on the lot between the Montessori Dieppe building and the Uni building on Champlain street. Looks like another project for downtown Dieppe.

This is exciting news. Looks to be 267 Champlain Street. I did some research and nothing has come up regarding what is being built there!?? (Note: On NB Property Assessment Page shows 267 and 271 being part of 251 Champlain where UNI is?? https://paol.snb.ca/paol.html?lang=en&pan=06198330)

Thanks. Looks like NBNYer was right (more or less). I'm at work right now. I will post a screen capture from that website later this evening.

Here we go:

49 Nathalie, by Three Creeks Developments - a new company.

A six storey apartment building (no ground floor retail), but otherwise NBNYer was right about the scale of this building. Another Spitfire designed property..........

According to a comment online, this building will be the first in the region to be built from "load bearing concrete blocks". If so, I imagine this means no tower crane, but we'll see...........

I was a bit skeptical of the ground floor retail myself when I first heard the rumour. Fairly nice looking building and I think appropriately sized for this neighbourhood. With all the residential development along Dieppe blvd., I wonder how long it will be until Sobeys pulls the trigger on their long-awaited Dieppe blvd. location.

Indeed, and the Fox Creek (Elan) apartment building right across Dieppe Blvd from 49 Nathalie is supposed to be getting a phase two at some point too. There is a growing cluster of apartment buildings on Dieppe Blvd. A new grocery store here may be coming sooner than you think.

It's load bearing blocks, the floors (in strips) will be pre-cast concrete and lowered on top of the blocks for each floor. There will be a crane but what kind I'm not sure.

From Huddle:

A Feeling Of Paris In Tony’s New Restaurant And Pastry Shop In Dieppe
Oct 30, 2020
by Inda Intia
https://huddle.today/a-feeling-of-pa...UVh-yLvaMaV-_Y

Quote:
The chef owns Tony’s Bistro and Patisseries on Elmwood, and his family runs it with him. Now, the Holdens are almost ready to open their new restaurant Atelier Tony and bakery Boulangerie Tony, at 50 Rue du Marché, across the street from the Dieppe market.
Quote:
Though the bakery and restaurant share a walk-in fridge and their kitchens are connected by a hallway, there are two separate entrances.

“It’s two totally separate identities and styles,” said Chris, Tony’s son and the company’s general manager.

Jordan, Tony’s younger son, is Atelier’s executive chef. The cuisine will have international influences but with French cooking style. There will be a cocktail and wine menu, too.

“It’s a lot of French techniques with local food,” Jordan says.

Atelier has a capacity for 60 seats, but that will be slashed to about half during the pandemic.

On the bakery side, they will sell artisan bread, French pastries, sandwiches and coffee. It will also run on a limited seating capacity of approximately 12, instead of 20.

Chris says the restaurant and bakery will be a “showcase for local products and local artisans.” Not only will Tony’s team make everything from scratch in-house, but they’ll also be using ingredients from local farms, dishware from Clayspace, coffee from Epoch Chemistry, and art from local artists.

Rumour is a mixed use building, perhaps five storeys, ground floor commercial, residential above, and with underground parking.

It's just my opinion, but those big vents out the side of the building running up to the roof look like crap. Too bad they couldn't conceal them better. They make the building look industrial.

Yes, they do stick out rather badly. Maybe Festival Inspire, the mural people, can do something creative with them?
