I am glad that you guys enjoyed those animated thumbnails copied from the YouTube site! But strangely, when I checked my post (#858 on page 43) just now, they were no longer working! I discovered that YouTube automatically changes the URLs for those thumbnails periodically, probably daily. So I updated all the links to get them working again, although they will most likely stop working again tomorrow (*SIGH*). If you viewed them yesterday, you may have to refresh your browser to load the updated thumbnails.

I think this first couple floors are taking longer because they are part of the parking garage so they are more reinforced (which I think takes longer to build). Also, in the bottom right corner they are building a ramp, which again I think takes longer. Once the parking decks are completed, I hope they speed up some!
I hope you are correct that construction will speed up once it goes above grade. Many skyscrapers being built elsewhere in the US can often add a floor every week or two. I would be happy if the Hudson Block can add a floor every 1 - 1.5 months, which should allow it to top out by late 2022 / early 2023. This article from last month says that the block is "expected to be completed by the end of 2023, and the tower, or skyscraper, by the second quarter of 2024", although I suspect the latter forecast is overly optimistic.

Awesome work. I too really appreciate those thumbnails. Watching the daily Youtube time lapses week after week, month after month, it really feels like watching paint dry. Your compilation proves without a doubt that there is progress.

I can only imagine the logistical challenges and delays caused by COVID. Everyone is competing for raw materials and labor right now, and some ridiculous escalating costs. Honestly, I'm just thankful the project hasn't been halted indefinitely at this point.

Agreed on all points. I imagine everything said is contributing to them working slower. What I really hope is they eventually move the camera so we can see more of the work as the progress moves upwards!

First tower core pour today, or ehh, yesterday. These videos seemed to be delayed by a day now.

Here's a unique perspective. Maybe a channel to keep an eye on as things keep going...

Cool to see the perspective from a worker on site. Just wish the videos were longer!

I had that same thought. Maybe he's not supposed to be recording. Or worried about dropping his phone?
