No BMR? But it's a hotel and they specifically made it a hotel to avoid the BMR requirement

North of market? It's not blocking any views or near the water. Maybe there will be Union Square shadow concerns, but otherwise, I don't see this as an issue. It's also right on market.

historical bank? If Wells Fargo is fine with it, I don't see the issue -- environmentalists and preservationists aren't going to fall on their sword to defend a big bank branch

This is one of the grandest banking halls in San Francisco and there will be a battle royal over it.

there was an enormous battle over this building once already when the crocker center was built. part of the deal was that 11 stories of the banking hall building would be removed (they weren't original) and that space made public open space. this makes two big challenges for a project there - preservation of an important building (albeit not in an article 11 district) and a public open space which was guaranteed in exchange for a very significant development.

Skyline shots from various spots this weekend (apologies for the phone picture quality - the more I zoom, the blurrier the photos):

Saturday from the observation tower at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park:

Very similar view from the octagonal fishing pier at Port View Park:

Another Sunday morning in Dolores Park:

Sunday afternoon from SPCA's dog walking area just east of 15th and Harrison:

More on the One Montgomery proposal here:

I also find donjuan's "fisherman's village" first comment on the Socketsite article link above rather amusing.

Schlage Lock

yesterday morning there was a concrete pour happening at the Schlage Lock site adjacent to Bayshore Caltrain along the southeastern border of the city. Altho this was supposed to get going last year, it doesn't look like this is the start of that. they seem to be getting there, however.

poor quality photos through a dirty window of a fast-moving train. moving north to south

Monday night I was driving over the hill where Portola turns into Market, and that view - even after 20 years, it still takes my breath away. I think an urban hike this weekend is in the works. A similar view from Twin Peaks:

I see that view almost every day when it isn't foggy driving up and down Portola Drive on my commute. There is a lookout point on the east side of the street near the top not far from where Portola connects to Clipper. You can drive and park there if you are lucky. If not, park somewhere nearby and walk. Wait for a clear day and bring your best camera.

This may have been noted already, but the Market Street Cinema is currently being demolished back-to-front. Looks to be over half gone. Just a refresher of the plans to replace it:

This post is from late 2014. Anyone know of more recent renderings/changes?

Forgive me if this is an obvious question, I wasn't able to find anything on it, obviously. Is there a place on this forum or does anyone have information of future plans for 200 Folsom once the new Transbay Terminal is opened? Thanks.

that is also known as TransBay block 2 (with blocks 3 and 4 rounding out the Temporary Terminal). ignore the circled parcel:

this is a little old, but gives you the basic idea
