If a mistake was made and the structure was built too close to power lines, I wonder who is at fault? I would think that as part of securing permits from the city and the city performing inspections along each phase of construction that the city screwed up. If that is the case, Provo City should bear the cost of burying the power lines.

Hey Mountain Skyline, A couple of major projects that also caught my attention is the Noorda School of Medicine and the Mix At River's Edge(replacement for PlumTree Sq.
Is it possible to sneak a photo of Noorda, and is the PlumTree Sq. project seeing some action?

Hey, the Noorda project has broken ground but there is nothing to see yet. The Mix has been stalled for a while now. There are a couple of issues the main one being apricey updating of the sewer lines in the area.

Yeah, I was noticing yesterday in some of the school registration pics that they are currently using several office buildings that already existed, which I guess they've converted. I assume the new school renderings are their goal proposal based on fund raising. Hopefully, both the college and the new Mix At River's Edge will be able to meet their monetary goals soon. We've been waiting for that Plum Tree Sq. conversion for some time now.

Just heard from folks in the know, that Mill Race is STILL A GO! And to watch for movement on the property by years end. Developer had to do some value adjustments and RE-bidding and things are still looking good. They hope to see some changes there before years end! This is EXCELLENT NEWS!! Provo and utah county could REALLY use this type of development in our city!

Quote from that article:

Quote:
The Council’s overall consensus was the number of units in the revised plan was still too high.

“Were talking about getting the right mix of residential, commercial and office space back in line. While I appreciate the effort that has been put into coming up with those ratios, part of why we need so much density right now is because the original area plan was overbuilt with office, which is now requiring such a larger element of residential to get back in line with the ratio split. I am concerned about how much residential would be needed to get to those appropriate ratios,” said Councilman Paul Hancock.
They fell face-first into the point and missed it anyway.

Lehi is the epitome of bad planning along the Wasatch Front, and now there are no good solutions to fix it. Increasing residential density is the ONLY solution - maybe, MAYBE it will entice some of the people working in those offices to live closer to their workplace, but it's already too late to solve the underlying issues imo.

Yep. You nailed it. There was no overall masterplan, as far as I'm aware, that tied infrastructure and future development together for something more cohesive & sustainable.

I hate Lehi so much. My son just quit a job simply because it required him to drive through Lehi every day. "Not worth it, Dad."

So this is under construction and will have 760 units. I assume this has a lot to do with the new med school that's going in at East Bay.

Additional rendering at the Five Degrees Website - https://fivedegreesdesign.com/about-us/

Located near the Provo East Bay Golf Course and I-15 for easy access. Amenities include outdoor terraces, pool and BBQ areas, fitness and community rooms, and bike storage rooms.

Date: Under Construction

Size: 2 Buildings, 6-Story, 760 Units

Type: Multi-Family Residential

So, I just met a neighbor of ours, (we've moved from Spanish Fork to Eagle Mountain) and he's an engineer. I can't remember the name of the company he works for, but they build commercial buildings and apartments. He said that as soon he's done with the project he's working on in Park City, he'll be working on Mill Race in Provo.

That got me all excited that it's obviously moving forward.
