Here are some views of the podium under the tower. It's huge. The roofline that goes along the Howe Street ramp seems to go on forever, broken up by a couple of cutaways and rising to nine floors at the south end.

The continuity will also be broken up because the southern block will have the silver aluminum panel grid from the tower.

Not sure how they are going to reconcile the angled roofline with the grid, though.

... a bit awkwardly - the alcoves just run upwards.

Does that actually count as a podium? I get what they were going for, but I'd think that for it to be considered a podium, it'd have to be.. y'know, the bottom of the structure?

Here's a look at the building on the triangle shaped site between the Howe Street ramp and the Granville Bridge. I was first on the ramp and then doubled back on the bridge.

Yeah, don't know if it's connected above-grade.
It's like a courtyard scheme, more than a podium.

*********

Strange how the upper columns are fatter than the ones below...

Pics by me today.

Big air conditioning unit on the roof of the low-rise:

Howe St. ramp sidewalk was closed, although there wasn't any visible overhead work.

nice

I was stuck in traffic last week on Taylor Way in West Van and that tower is really visible from up there, looks so tall.

The frame for the screen wall around the top has started to appear (see last photo below).

Does anyone know how wide each panel of glazing is? Seems wider than the norm or are the ceilings just low

I'm on tenterhooks awaiting completion, if only to see if Westbank has shaken its fit/finish problems so widely apparent on their other buildings.
