Huh? Financing for the hotel was announced like a year ago. Why would they be delaying this?

West Loop condo board sued—over its lawsuit

Quote:
Board members of a West Loop condo association who have been suing to block a project going up next door are now themselves being sued, by a member who claims they're wasting the association's money on a dead issue.

The new lawsuit, filed by Dream Properties, which owns several of the commercial spaces in the Monroe Manor building, 841-849 W. Monroe St., alleges that board members are "placing their own individual interests ahead of those of the association" in pursuing legal action against the development one door south, at 111 S. Peoria.

Broadway/Wilson redesigned

Looks much less like a parking garage, so a definite improvement.

Ugh. The new Wilson/B'way reminds me of Booth Hansen's nice SAIC dorm at Randolph/State, but, you know, shittier.

It's a weird mix of Chicago School and generic office-park modernism.

Not sure if it has been posted already, but a retail owner in the building next door where the condo association is suing to stop construction, is now suing the condo board for wasting the associations money. They seek to claw back 90k and want to prevent them from spending up to 290k total.

To go along with this issue, I can't wait for 1 S Halsted and Illume to be completed just so we can stop hearing about the complaint of "too tall" for the neighborhood. Praying that the H20 site and Haymarket site to be approved as proposed as well.

They both seem meh to me, so stasis I suppose.

Absolutely, this is great to see.....hopefully construction start follows shortly afterward. I just hope the final design here is not that apparently VE'd to hell version that surfaced in the last few months......

I suppose the hotel proposal that I'm most excited about to start next (after this one, assuming a start is just around the corner here) might be the Reid Murdoch tower, and then maybe following that, the Lakeshore East parcel O (who knows what's going on with that one?), and then the hotel/residential proposal that was approved for a parcel off of State or Wabash (can't remember which) just west of McCormick Place.....that would be very nice to continue creating some critical mass of activity and new development in the greater convention center/motor row area.....

This one has already been under construction since about the beginning of the year.
