^ Interesting juxtaposition of new and old as the NY I grew up with is becoming less and less recognizable! From a time when graffiti was nearly everywhere to shiny towers taking the place of derelict buildings, it's been quite the amazing journey to see what NY will look like even in the next year or so!

When the HY first opened, there were people who said it didn’t look or feel like NY, or the rest of Midtown. But as the canyons are filled in with new towers, the streetlife activated like the rest if Midtown, that perception will begin to fade. It already has. But the old, gritty west side is disappearing as well. Hard to believe there was a drive-thru McDonald’s on site.

Wonderful!

I'm assuming that the boxes in Phase Deux towers (re: the two tallest...more on thatbelow) are for massing purposed and most likely will not match the heights shown, even though it's long since been common knowledge that height in the section of the yards is not a big factor.

The same question pertains to the other two, especially none of the selected starchitects have to my knowledge been assigned to any aspect of the development. I'm liking the tallest in that bunch (Foster's 200G v.1 feeling), even though the sloped roof thing is beginning to wear a bit thin on me. And that catty-corner partner tower doesn't give the impression of a unified motif.

PS: That silhouetted tower lurking behind the Big Boys: Manhattan West One?

EDIT: On closer inspection it seems that there are two towers lurking behind 30H. Can anyone ID? Thx.

There are still more 'scrapers to add to that rendering.

Which ones that we know of, so we can add to this rendering when we have the chance?

^ Multiple threads in the proposal forum, basically all of the towers north of the Spiral and 3 Hudson, and towers south of the railyards.

Not really too tall, but both towers already have a presence.
