What is the crane on the far left for? Never noticed it before today?

I think what looks like a second crane at the Waterton is actually a transmission tower for the power line up the 102, it took me a few takes, it remarkabley looks like a mobile crane. The crane to the far left is at the top of Cowie Hill, it is being used to tilt up panels on the new Water Commission building up there.

All NS had an article this week I read that reported on search warrants being issued for the search of personal storage lockers as the company is not cooperating with bankruptcy proceedings. Apparently the company gave them the wrong locker the first time and second search warrant had to be issued. They are looking for financial information the company will allegedly not provide.

Wouldn't providing false information be a criminal offense? What crooks.

They must be planning on finishing the precast with a mobile crane, two from today.

It is just like a massive concrete wall. Please HRM, no more of these developments. Think of Vancouver and its tall slim towers.

rentals?

I suspect that Waterton II will be rental. They are doing rent to own in Waterton I, have been for at least a year and still trying to get them filled.

What about Skye Halifax, aren't they connected to this as well?

I wondered that, the precast has been going up somewhat sporadically, that is done by a seperate contractor than the crane owner. Generally they will try to have the panels built so the tower crane can lift them, but it is not uncommon for a mobile crane to be brought in for a portion of the panels, the Trillium was done like this.

That's because they hired Tri Cell, who did house foundations, to do the first one tower. They were half of the price of the reputable companies that priced the formwork the first time around. Needless to say, Tri Cell went bankrupt before they were half way up the tower. Their workmanship was also a nightmare. They left in their wake a nightmare of shoty, crooked and structurally questionable work. This was the biggest job in town at the time it started and the company that was hired had never even used a tower crane. Its comparable to hiring a boy scout for a mission to save the world because the navy seals wouldn't work for minimum wage.

More lawsuits still coming on this project. This time the condo owners, through the condo corp, are suing the developer.
