To be fair, they do have streets in third world countries as well, and I imagine that crossing them there would be a real and actual ordeal.

Not that they'd be whining about it.

Maybe adding more lighting?
Or a hanging sculpture?

They have now cemented in that area

The plaza was pretty full of people, and the food court seating was also pretty busy, mostly seniors sitting around chatting. I am surprised the Tim Hortons hasn't reopened.

H&M has something going on, side note a lot of the other retailers on the west side of the boulevard have had glass installed

Wow!
I guess the larger (but smaller than anchor) Metrotown 2 level clothing stores like H&M and Uniqlo have escalators, do they?

H&M Metrotown and Guildford have escalators. Uniqlo Metrotown only has a set of stairs and an elevator.

This place looks like an oasis of LED lights on a dark and rainy night. Really impressed how it all is coming together.

Damn, that looks good. Looks really welcoming, and I'm sure is Insta-friendly too.

popped by today. The Plaza was very busy, the Starbucks had a continous lineup that was going outside and they were sold out of many many many things including my drink choice so I went to the upstairs one and they had it but they were apparently short-staffed and were going to close early but he said it had been an extremely busy day up there too.

The plaza's big screen was on but it has the message "No Disc" on so maybe someone forgot or just wasn't paying attention to what was going on or not.

Anyway some pics of the recently unveiled staircase.

Nice retro planter bench.
Way nicer than movable stick furniture.

The thing for me would be the fact that the place looks safe at night with all these lights. It just seems to always be buzzing and I see people walking about during both day and night. No doubt those lights really helped made the place feel welcome as well at night. It's safe compared to a dead mall at night.

once things get back to normal, if they do, most of the plaza is restaurants so it should have people untill at least 11 pm or later and the McDonalds will be 24 hours which will be good to have some life and somewhere to go in the area.

I've noticed that the Michael Hill store at Brentwood used to have a sign that said they were closed due to covid and would reopen but in the meantime their store at Metrotown was open and repairs or such could be picked up there. But they have taken those letters from the store and the store signage is gone too. Looks like they pulled out completely.

Also the Purdys has not reopened either, they say due to covid they are closed temporarily but I doubt they will reopen either.

A few other places have also had their signage removed in recent weeks.

It does look like the food hall could open in November, they have tables and chairs in there now.

Errr.. the food court looks very incomplete still. In some places, dry wall hasn’t even been installed.

The food trucks in place of the food court has been extended until end of year. And the staff said it’s not ready until early 2021

ah, someone in here a few pages ago said it would open in November.

Rec Room had TVs on today and there was a Stranger Things Pinball machine visible.

Is the far north part near the old entrance part of the food court? or is it something else, I can't tell from the floor plans, it looks like it could be a stand alone full service rstaurant and not part of the food court since the food court looks more complete.
