Can't decide whether I like Charlotte's skyline more during the day or night.

With the Panthers moving their HQ and practice facility to SC...their current uptown practice facility/land are prime for redevelopment. The neighboring Charlotte Pipe & Foundry Co is also planning to move out to another county for incentives. What do you want to happen? An entertainment complex would be nice.

Awesome photos. Charlotte's skyline is amazing for a city of its size.

It really is. Great mix of unique (non-box) architecture, height, and becoming more dense over time from certain angles.

The Hearst Tower is still my favorite skyscraper in Charlotte. Just love the Egyptian inspiration.

An update on Duke Energy II before I forget...

This is now 42 floors, 659 ft....according to @rickydavisfan21

Quote:
They are currently deflating their retail numbers

To minimize parking requirements

They are going to do a RTAP midway and turn an additional 15k into retail

So hopefully we are looking at 35k retail

An 8 story LED wall

And solar panels on top
Didn't take any pictures, but fence is up and construction trailer is on site.

Charlotte's first true skinny high-rise the Intercontinental Hotel is finally at excavation stage after running into soil issues and months and months of micropile drilling. As much as I am excited about the new addition, I hope that it won't become a trend. Prefer better proportioned towers.

From few days ago. What a small site.

Not to mention the fact that InterContinental Hotels is a highly respected and elite brand, and further legitimizes Charlotte in the business, tourism and hospitality spheres. A mega score for any rising city.

Too funny.

NEW RENDERING ALERT
@Moxy has gone from Regina George to Wednesday Adams. @blackwedco. Sleek, black, shiny, and great textural contrast between the black stone, black brick and pops of pinks and earth tones. Will be interesting to see if it suffers any VEing

Legacy III

Yeah, it looks like Hyatt Place...

The electronics manufacturer, which is relocating its corporate headquarters to Charlotte from New Jersey, will occupy about 280,000 square feet at 700 S. Mint St. — the third office building to come to Lincoln Harris' 10-acre uptown Charlotte site. Honeywell (NYSE: HON) has signed a long-term lease agreement for nine floors at the 23-story, 330,000-square-foot tower, expected to break ground in September and be finished in the first half of 2021. The Charlotte Business Journal previously reported a third office building was pegged for the Mint Street site, but the square footage of the building has since increased.

Stadium, will include ground-floor retail space, about 800 parking spaces and a rooftop terrace. It will also be designed with Honeywell technology — the company has a unit that develops building-management systems, including for energy, security and surveillance, as well as network-based infrastructure.

I feel like this building should have switched location with the NAI Proposal in midtown...

Loving Duke Energy 2. Is that a Pickard-Chilton design?

The wall of almost entirely new development (built within the last 15 years) along I-277 there is actually staggering. It's going to be quite a sight to drive down in a few more years.

NEW: A mixed-use development at the Charlotte Transportation Center site in uptown has been proposed and CATS has made a call for competing offers. If any type of redevelopment is approved at this block, valued at nearly $23M, it would be significant: https://t.co/HsYsRG51by

The Moxy building...

One of the few buildings I don't know if I hate it to death, or think its absolutely beautiful. I do love black buildings though, so who knows.

The visual diversity will be nice, I think. The pink writing on it is kinda cool too and ties in with the pink Arlington building. Overall, the new proposals are solid.

Somebody mentioned in another forum that if the fins and murals were removed, then we have a playstation.
Surprisingly, I might be okay with that lol.
