Came across this "proposal" next to the Target on Division and Halsted

This is a proposal for a planned development along Division St. in Chicago's Cabrini Green Neighborhood. It would include two high rises, three mid-rises and multiple townhomes with half low income and half market-rate housing intermixed throughout.

Given how interesting the interiors are (for an office building), it's too bad the exterior is so drab. Still an improvement over the current parking lot.

It would be amazing to get that entire field filled in with stuff. Not sure how I feel about this, but if it's real then at least it's the entire thing..

Except that there is a building getting knocked down for this office. No, it's not landmark quality, but incorporating the building into the design would maintain a finer-grain environment.

No, that's on the other side of the alley. I'm pretty sure they aren't vacating the alley for this project.

That building is actually part of this development. It was knocked down for what you see in the rendering. Both the building and the empty lot at the corner were purchased on 2/1/2017 by the same buyer (W Sf Goldfinger Owner VIII LLC). 170 N Halsted (the building) for $5M while the lot (178 N Halsted) was sold for $10M. Demo permit was issued on 4/12 and has been knocked down. This development is absolutely taking up where that building used to be.

^Good catch. Looks like the alley will be used to access the parking garage and as a drop-off point.

...Belgravia also develops in well-established areas, including two condo buildings it plans to start building this year in River North.

The firm has sold 21 of a planned 51 condos at Renelle on the River, which it plans to kick off near Trump Tower by September, Ruttenberg said. Belgravia also has sold eight of 38 units for a project it will start building on Erie Street by November, he said.
