As you know, this forum begun in Chinatown in Los Angeles, CA.
Almost a year later, we revisit the neighborhood which has been hit hard by the pandemic.

Someone told me the best Chinese food is now available to Monterrey Park, the Asian Beverly Hills. Curiously, on one of my former trips to L.A., I took the bus out to downtown Monterrey Park, and new Chinatown in L.A.?

In NYC, the Chinatown in Manhattan has shrunk, and the new Chinatown is in Flushing.

No Chinatown can hold a candle to the Chinatown in San Francicsco. The best of the best!

The best food are particularly in 626 area (Monterey Park, Alhambra, Arcadia). There are a lot of development targeted to the Chinese in that region.

Here's a few photos I took yesterday at New Chinatown and Barnes Park, Monterey Park, CA on the national day of anti Asian-American violence

Echo Park recently made national headlines because of the controversial city council decision to evict a homeless encampment for reparations. Hundreds of activists flooded to Echo Park Lake on the morning and night of March 24, 2021. Many protesters stayed overnight, clashing with LAPD officers as the city installs a fence around the park. The remaining residents were ordered to leave by 10:30PM on March 25, 2021. You can read more about it at LA Times. The photos I shared are taken during the calm.

Thank God they've been ousted. Let's normalize city parks being clean and safe, not open air drug dens.
