If you look closely, you can see where the vertical sign used to be by the discolored (darker) bricks.

There are the discolored bricks again, directly above the two arched windows on the left.
-the 8th Street 'entrance' with it's two elegant cartouches. That said, how bad is this neighborhood? That fortified 'caged' entrance is horrendous!
