Bangkok. No need for substitutes (part 3)

Continuing our experience in the world's most amusing, sexiest and friendliest city... make sure your mind is save cos Krung Thep might steal it from you (along with your soul and heart... as what it did to me)

MBK Center... one of the largest shopping malls in Bangkok built back in 1985... once the largest shopping mall in Asia is still one of the main assembly points for many locals and tourists willing to spend some time buying stuff. 8 stories and 330m (1000+ ft) is enough for one to spend a whole day and not get bored (not for my mom at least)

5.
Inside MBK

Portraits of the King are even in the shopping malls. King of Thailand is the most respected person in Thailand. Besides being the monarch he can boast a number of talents such as being a jazz musician (he does actually hold some international awards), scientist, sailor, photographer etc. King's role is absolutely crucial in Thai society because he holds an exceptional moral (note,Kings's legal authority is not wide at all, his actual authority comes from his moral influence over the society which is never questioned or discussed in any circmstances) authority which is unquestionable and respected by everyone and everywhere (including the generals who organized the military coup last year... their first step was declaring loyalty to the King). Rama IX is also the longest ruling monarch in the world.

9.
Food Center in MBK. Food courts are extremely popular in Thailand (and in the rest of Asia...). An extremely efficient and convenient way to eat. A diner with a pint of excellent Thai beer would cost something around £2 ($4)

Couldn't find a right size t-shirt for myself

McDonald's clown greets visitors Thai style. Btw, "large big Mac Meal" in Bangkok means twice as many potatoes and twice as much drink compared to London. It also costs about 1/2 in comparison.

Silver... 99TBH (about £1.20 or $4.5 per item)

Most of the taxis in Bangkok are 9-th generation Toyota Corolla/Corolla Altis

25.
No too many European cars... Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Isuzu rule in the streets of Bkk...

I always wondered why Japanese models have such good designs in Asia and US while their European designs usually suck...

yeah nice pics. thanks for sharing your experience.

but i think US conversion is slightly wrong. the current exchange rate is around 33 baht for 1 US dollar. (ex. 99 baht = 3 USD only)
