Nice pictures.

Doesn't the lake usually freeze over? Is there an ice boom in?

Most years it freezes, but not every year. Until the last couple of weeks there have been relatively few days where the air temperatures have remained below freezing. Last year the lake near Buffalo didn't freeze at all. Ice boom is in. Right now the canal and harbors along the shore are frozen over, and I expect with the cold forecast for the next couple of weeks will freeze over much of the lake west of the ice boom.

Here is the frozen-over Buffalo Yacht Club, located between Lasalle Park and the Peace Bridge.

Winter gets a lot of hate but I think that it is beautiful. Great pics!

Winter sun and snow is gorgeous... really makes one appreciate sunny winter days.

I miss winters on the Lake Erie shoreline -- sunnier than most people would likely imagine. The Pittsburgh winter is just about the worst... usually not much snow and zero sun, so everything is brown and gray. And when you're surrounded by brown and gray hills, it can be pretty bleak and claustrophobic here.

Imaginatively sad, but that's what makes it Pittsburgh, not Fort Lauderdale.

True... but I'm not sure if that's a good thing

Pittsburgh is a truly beautiful city, though its weather is certainly not one of its prized attributes. This is a cloudy and very cold place without much snow in the winter, and a cloudy and hot & humid place in the summer. It can be a bit smothering at times... but that does make one appreciate a sunny day with blue skies that much more.

Great photos! I hope to visit Buffalo one day, though maybe in the summer or fall. It looks like a lovely city.

Not a sunny day, but I took a few pictures at the UB (University at Buffalo) North Campus on a quiet winter weekend morning visit.

The main UB campus has nice modernist architecture in a vacuum, but taking the architecture as a whole and the surrounding landscape, it looks even more uninviting and bleak than the rest of Buffalo in the dead of winter.

The snow still falls, and set sun still shines in the morning (at least some days). A few more pictures from around Delaware Avenue downtown, and a few along Elmwood Avenue in Elmwood Village neighborhood.

I believe every city has its own beauty, I belong to a small city in India. At my place, I hardly can find skyscrapers but what I actually get is peace. Doesn't matter how high the buildings are, what matters is how much you feel about the area. You can check https://www.touropia.com/best-cities-to-visit-in-india/ this link to find more beautiful places at my country.
