That is far more substantial than I had pictured from that perspective, especially with the reduced height. Can you imagine if it were still 900+ ft?

^The key is to view it from far away. Get too close to the riverfront, and the RenCen would completely steal the show.

There's only 47' difference between the roofs of the Hudson Tower and the RenCen. From most perspectives in Detroit Hudson will appear taller or of equal height to the RenCen.

^^ I thought I saw them disassembling the platform at the top of the cores in the Youtube videos. Glad to see a picture confirming it!

Some photos of said steel. Great milestone! According to Bedrock,

Following initial column placement, periphery structure will be built over an estimated period of 9 months.

Interesting how the steel is bolted directly to the concrete columns below. I always thought there would need to be some kind of stub protruding to connect the steel.

Presumably this means building 14 floors in 9 months. FINALLY, construction will speed up dramatically!

Great to see downtown Detroit going in the right direction. So many nice old buildings in that city, and this should help showcase what's left of the great city of Detroit.

Looks like they have everything set up for pouring the concrete core. Should rise at a consistent pace from now on.
