Greystone Casino up in Edmundston is also suspending operations.

St Mary's Entertainment Centre in Freddy is suspending.

And ALC has shut down the VLTs for the next little while now. (Probably why SMEC has shut down)

Glad the Casinos finally closed

High risk individuals going from machine to machine with their hands all over everything, cards, chips etc. Seems like a disaster.

It’s a grim looking outlook for the whole concert scene. It’s safe to say that there will be no concerts this summer. Most tours and festivals have already been delayed, and the rest are inevitable. While some have postponed until the fall, I think that is being overly optimistic. Most of the articles I have read have a general consensus that there will be no concerts in 2020. And some think a lot of 2021 will be on jeopardy as well.

Same for sports. Leagues like the NHL and NBA are hopeful that they can stage some kind of tournament to salvage their playoffs. However, there is a real possibility that all of next season will have to be played with no fans in the arenas as well, as a vaccine is still likely at least a year away.

I would agree with that.

And what irks me right now is TicketMaster's recent change in their refund policy. It's a hot topic out there, google search. Essentially, they are not refunding tickets which are listed as 'Postponed'. That pushes the ticket holder to reach out to the artist themselves and request they 'Cancel', which is the only way to get a refund from TicketMaster. Will TicketMaster offer a refund once the new show date is scheduled after the Postponement? Who knows, but something tells me, no they won't. Hope I'm wrong.

If this is the new norm going forward, you can see this guy only buying tickets at the very last minute (within days) of a show date. This would be a horrible scenario for venues, ticket sellers and event managers if everyone started to do the same.

I think the policy should be simple. An event is scheduled on a certain date with a price, that's what you pay for. But if the date gets changed because of whatever circumstances, the ticket holder should have the ability to request a refund without question. Artists and ticket sellers should not hold your money hostage for 6 months as a wait and see reason.

I agree 100%. I will probably think twice when it comes to general admission shows, at least for a while. But when it comes to seated shows, getting the best possible tickets are too important for me to wait it out and end up with sub par seats.

I only had tickets to a pair of shows. The Saints & Sinners show in Moncton (postponed) and Bachman Cummings in Summerside. As far as I’m aware no announcement has been made on this tour yet? I have pretty good seats for it so will be fine with whatever the eventual announcement is on it, postpone or cancel.

Casino NB has postponed all their shows until 2021 now. I've got tix to Terry Fator which js now July 21, 2021. Hopefully by then things are settled enough for shows to actually go off; but we'll see when we get there.

Emboldened by the thievery perpetuated by the thugs at Ticketmaster, just about every show venue I know now doesn't cancel shows. They are all merely postponed. Sorry no refunds thank you come again sucka!

Casino NB is using Ticket Pro. They are offering refunds if you can't make the new dates. The date to claim the refunds seems a bit tight (For Terry Fator, you need to claim a refund by Aug 20, 2020 for a show in July 2021 now), but at least the refund option is available. The refund date seems linked to the previous delayed date.

LOL Last night I was going to post, "I miss my shows."
Got tix in my pockets for the Saints and Sinners Tour as well as Downchild Blues Band.
Both are "postponed" not cancelled so no money back either, yet.
By the time shows like this get reorganized all over again and get a schedule down pat, the second wave will be here.

ZZ Top announced the rescheduled Halifax date for May 11th.
St-John's was already announced back in April (May 14-15th)

No word yet for Moncton, but given the "meh" sales before it was cancelled, I wouldn't be surprised if they just decide to skip it for the 2021 tour.

But they are free after the St-John's dates, in case SMG change their minds.

Thread revival!

Area 506 will be going ahead this year, hosting a series of concerts in July and August with distancing measures in place. Basically you go as a 6-10 person bubble and get a private "pod" to watch the show from, complete with bar service to each pod. Pricing has not been released yet from what I can tell.

Interesting concept. I hope it's a great success.
As for myself, I'm desperately, hopefully, hanging on to my tix for the twice-postponed Downchild reunion show at the Capitol this falll.
Third time's the charm, I'm told.

Oooh, I'm so glad the concerts are starting to recover!!! Watching a video clip and watching your favorite band live is different. I am in awe of the live sound and energy that comes from the artists. I love all the lighting and sound effects; I even found out that http://www.ontourevents.co.uk/confer...io-visual-hire organize it all. It is this created atmosphere that inspires me to buy tickets to the concerts. This quarantine period was killing me morally. I hope everything will be fine and the world will go back to normal. And I will buy a ticket for all kinds of concerts )))

Kind of screwed themselves on ticket revenue with the bubble seating for an event scheduled after restrictions ended.

Cavendish Beach is back as well, August 27 & 28th. Headliners are Gord Bamford on Friday and Tim Hicks on Saturday. Not a big country fan, but it’s good to see shows returning.

Looks like they are bridging the phases. The first few weeks will be under the restrictions, and there is no guarantee that restrictions are lifted in August.

They can always open wide after the restrictions are lifted and sell more tix then. The first weekend after Green might be sparse due to lack of time, but after that they should be mostly fine.

Nice to see a few concerts announced for Moncton that will probably be going ahead in the new year.
