Here precisely..............

Just to the east and in front of Glad Tidings Church.

Note how there is a cluster of apartment buildings now in this neighbourhood (mostly on Diamond Head Court). Actually, there is one new apartment building on Diamond Head that was built since this satellite photo was taken.

They won't have to dig deep for the foundation because there's a big gully on that property. They may even have to bring in fill.

They have cut down all the big trees on the lot @ 2430 Mountain Road. Excuse the picture quality it was taken from my dashcam.

So, it would appear then that the developers intend to get started on this building in the springtime:

Given the ongoing work on the two buildings at 2265 Mountain Road, there will soon be a cluster of cranes on this western section of Mountain Road. Both of these projects will be highly visible from the TCH.

They are now starting work on the back portion of the first apartment building at 2265 Mountain Road.

It's strange how they enclosed the entire front section of this building (right up to the firewall) before starting work on the back end.

Not really, this way it gives the indoor tradesman a place to work while they finish the remainder of the building back of the fire break. They put up the second floor today, this section is only half as long.

I drove by on the TCH this morning, and it is impressive how visible this building is from the highway. With it's twin going to start construction later this year, and with the nearby 2430 Mountain Road development also soon to start, this section of the NW end will look dramatically different to passing traffic on the highway within a couple of years.

I just noticed today that there are three lots in the MID West Industrial Park now sporting "sold" signs. Two of these are adjacent lots, right across the street from the JessEm Tool manufacturing facility currently under construction. I wonder if there is something afoot for later this year?

Adding this to the appropriate neighbourhood thread.

This is a Thrive Properties project and is moving ahead (obviously), but further down the priority list it would seem than The Tides, their project on Lady Ada, and perhaps even The Current. Breaking ground in early 2022 perhaps?

2265 appartement building looks like they bought up a clearance sale on siding. 4 different colors and fake brick siding. Gross looking building.

These two buildings were always intended to be multi-toned.

It is what it is. These two buildings were never intended to be high class apartment buildings. I think faux bricks and rainbow siding were to be expected.

They will however be sturdy buildings, of better quality than the typical four storey particle board and vinyl sided constructs we used to see around the city a decade ago. Not all apartment buildings can be architectural treasures. Hopefully they will be priced so that average families will be able to afford the rent.

I appreciate your POV, however nobody can accuse the developers of not believing in truth in advertising.

Here's a recent photo found on Retail Talk & Share showing the current status of the first of the two buildings (as of a couple of weeks ago).

This looks pretty darned close to the rendering, even down to the colour of the cladding.

Compare this with a project in uptown Saint John (discussed in length in their Uptown thread), where the developer swapped out nice looking panels used for cladding in the project render with ugly corrugated steel siding in real life. The final product is very disappointing compared to what it could have been.

This apartment complex on Mountain Raod will still provide quality housing hopefully designed with affordable rent in mind.

Today they removed the top soil.

They are doing some pre-leasing for the Lady Ada complex. Construction completion date shows 2022. More info on the www.questproperties.ca web site.

This is absolutely an active construction site:
- There is construction fencing up with Rice Contracting signs mounted.
- Land preparation is well advanced. There is earth moving equipment on site.
- Construction trailers are waiting on a side street to be moved on to site.
- Those are definitely pieces of a tower crane lying on the ground, waiting to be installed.

This project is a go!!!

Between this, and the expected construction of the new mega Kent Building Supplies Warehouse Store on Moncton Street next to the TCH just a short distance away, this area will be very busy in 2021.............
Drove by this project today and seems they are pouring concrete for the tower crane. Construction should begin soon or the following weeks .

I wonder how many tower cranes there will be in the greater Moncton metro area this year. There will be three in the northwest end alone!

I predict as many as eight full fledged tower cranes in Moncton by the end of the summer. This would definitely be a record!
