On a side note does Vancouver have a height limit like San Diego? Hopefully not and sometime soon we will see some Super tall buildings crown Downtown!!!!!

Vancouver has view cones which are basically means towers can't block the tops of mountains for the view of wealthy detached homeowners outside of downtown.

in Burnaby the City of Lougheed is really starting to rise now, the first of 4 towers is at about 11 floors now.

Thanks so much for the awesome update, Vanman. As someone who has been out of touch with Vancouver development trends for several years, it's great to see how much is going on there right now and just how much more diverse in form and design the current batch of projects is compared to a decade prior. Exciting times!

Wow, not only a ton of activity, but some really amazing and unique designs going up. Please keep this updated!

Thanks for the comments guys. I feel this thread hardly ever gets any love from the local forumers so I decided to change that. Will try and update this more often.

Senakw | Office/Retail/Residential | Proposed

This is an extremely interesting project being that is proposed on native land and therefore does not have to adhere to city zoning regulations or height restrictions. The Squamish Nation is partnering with a local developer to build 6000 units of mostly market rental housing. The city would never allow this level of density under normal circumstances.
