I think twins/triplets can be nice sparingly, but if you think of the iconic skylines of Chicago or New York, or even other cities like Hong Kong, Shanghai, Frankfurt, or London, you don't see Tower I & II with repeat designs at maybe different heights. Yes, in New York and especially Hong Kong, the residential high rise areas can be quite repetitive but the main skylines are full of eye-catching, distinctive buildings.

The growth of Toronto's skyline is impressive and if all comes to plan, it's going to have serious heft and intensity. But it still won't have anything stick out beyond the CN Tower, especially now that the old bank towers have been so obscured. Calgary has long had this issue too, and now Montreal looks to be catching up to this phenomenon with its very-tall (for its skyline) condos that will strongly alter the that city's skyline, which has been probably one of the more distinct we've got in Canada.
Im not a fan of twins either but as larger lots disapear you will see lessand less of them. Montreal, Calgary, Edmonto, and Ottawa all suffer the same priblem. Vancouvers corescaped this due to the smaller footprints of the street grid.

Here is a generic, narrow, 250 metre tower at 372 Yonge. The separation between this one and Chelsea Green II is about 18 metres. Reminds me of the separation problem at 1200 Bay.

In it's current form most likely. Something large will rise there but not as soon as it should have.

It's a pit in the ground so I'm not sure if that's an advantage over the shitload of rezoned development sites and for smaller scaled towers in Toronto. Motivated seller.

There are many more proposals than Toronto could build in a construction cycle and that list continues to grow bigger every passing year. At current levels, most proposals won't be built by simple supply and demand. Fingers crossed this is not one of them

Steveve did another Bloor/Yorkville to the lake render from a slightly different angle (gives a glimpse of Canada's eventual next tallest).
