Looks like Emporis is outdated for Moscow

a better Moscow list

1. Russia Tower 600 m approved
2. Ostankino TV tower 540 m
3. Federation Tower 448 m U/C
4. Mercury Tower 380 m U/C
5. City Hall 308 m U/C
6. Parcel 12 305 m U/C
7. Moscow 274 m U/C
8. Triumph Palace 264 m
9. Naberezhnaja Tower C 252 m U/C
10. Moscow State University 240 m
11. St. Petersburg 235 m U/C
12. Imperia Tower (60 floors) - instead of Aqua City Palace (50 floors)
design not finalized, probably higher than 250 m

for height calculation mind these details:

1. Federation Tower consists of Tower B 242m, Tower A 354 m, and Tower C 448 m
2. City Hall is actually four independent towers connected by skybridges
3. you may not want to count the TV tower, it is not a building

coth, could you check this?

The Top10s I've posted only considers highrise buildings. If you look at it carefully, there's no Eiffel Tower for Paris, no Fernsehturm for Berlin. What you consider the "Tower C" of the Federation Tower is simply a mast, that's why I haven't counted it.

Furthermore the Top10s I've posted only considers building which are either already built or currently under construction. Do you see any Bishopsgate Tower or London Bridge Tower in London's list ?

As for the City Hall, I have long hesitated to know whether I should consider it as a single building or as 4 buildings, and I've finally decided to consider it as only one for the simple reason that they aren't simply connected by one single bridge a bit as the Petronas in KL, but actually by 32 skybridges on multiple floors with a glass wall between them. When you look at it, you see more a polycentric tower than 4 skyscrapers :

As a result, the only tower I've missed was the Mercury Tower. Thanks for this.

I would not call FT C as a mast. It is very unique concept there. It is architectural part of complex. It's also has own occupancy - elevators, bridges with bars and other stuff.

As of City Hall. There are four independent towers with 8 skybridges and with huge skybridge in form of letter M(oscow). The space between towers is free.

Moscow Top 10 Tallest proposed/approved/uc/built
  1. Russia Tower. 600m 118f. approved.
  2. FederationTower C. 448m 130f. u/c.
  3. Mercury City Tower. 380m 70f. u/c.
  4. East FederationTower. 354m 93f u/c.
  5. One City Hall and City Duma. 308m 71f. u/c.
  6. Two City Hall and City Duma. 308m 71f. u/c.
  7. Three City Hall and City Duma. 308m 71f. u/c.
  8. Four City Hall and City Duma. 308m 71f. u/c.
  9. Golden Age. 306m 85f. approved.
  10. 12 IBC. 305m 67f. u/c.
also three 93 storeys proposals with unknown height could be taller of place 10.

Emporis lists are in many case not accurate

Here, for istance, Varesine Tower 1 is given for sure at 175 m (what last news don't give for sure, unfortunately) and in any case it is not u/c 'cause they will start in 2007 the "true" costruction: for now they're just "preparing" the area which was a former rail station demolished in '50... a complicated process of clean up

However the complete list of all proposed/approuved/built top ten towers in Milan should be that

Milan, Italy
1 - Torre "Isozaki", CityLife : 220 m (approuved)

2 - Milanone, Area D3 : 212 m (proposed)

3 - Torre "Hadid", CityLife : 185 m (approuved)

4 - Torre 2, Area D3 : 185 (?) m (proposed)

5 - Torre Varesine 1 : 175 (?) m (approuved)

6 - Torre "Libeskind", Citylife : 170 m (approuved)

7 - Regione Lombardia : 160 m (u/c)

8 - Torre Hines 1 : 145 m (approuved)

9 - Torre Varesine 2 : 130 m (approuved)

10 - Pirelli Building : 127 m (built: 1956)

To add at the list as existing towers (but not skyscrapers) should be:
- Telecom Italia Tower : 180 m
- Rai Television Tower : 145 m

For the future there are many "undefined" projects which can change the top ten; two of them surely are Milan Municipality tower that should have a minimum high of 150 m (they should do an international competition) and Milan Expo 2015 Tower (I think its construction there will be just in the case Milan would host the Expo) just presented in the project for the Expo as the new symbol of the city that should be projected by an international competition: from the renderings it seems to be approximately 600 m (!) high

I find it hilarious that you still claim these are 4 separate buildings.

I've never heard anything so ridiculous in my whole life.

because those are 4 separate independent towers with free space between them and with six(x4) 2 story bridges and one(x4) 8 story bridge in shape of letter m. call it reversed podium.

So if I understand well, the Grande Arche in Paris is actually 2 highrise buildings:

too much fun.

City Hall is four skyscrapers?

The Shard is 6 then (the six elements interlinked to form the tower) and Broadgate Tower is 8.

i have to repeat. city hall is 4 independent towers with no common connections. there are four 8 story brigdes at the top (one bridge connecting only two towers). there is a glassy dome, that covering inner yard, between towers at the top. those are only bridges technically. or does we have to count now petronas and federation as one building?

will, the fact that you don't like to lose in quantity doesn't mean that you right just because you are right.

blue on pic 1-1 is empty space. there is no an additional core between towers, but several atriums that does not have any structural value. bridges - as well.

Have you just looked its design Coth ? I'll repost it for you :

Just like with the Grande Arche, the whole structure shares a same roof, but even more than the Grande Arche, the space between the four pillars is protected from the outside by giant glass walls. As such, that space forms actually a giant atrium which isn't in open air as opposed to the "hole" in the Grande Arche.

Now for your comparison with the Petronas towers:
  • Does the Petronas towers share the same roof ? No.
  • Does the Petronas towers are linked by a giant atrium on all their height ? No.
  • Are there any walls between the Petronas towers in general ? No.
  • Are there 32 skybridges on the Petronas ? No, only a single one.

Coth, sincerly, admit it. Moscow's new city Hall is a structure which is a lot closer to the Grande Arche than to the Petronas towers.

You look at cheap model. Look at sections posted above.
For City Hall
1. No.
2. Yet again - there are no atriums in all height of towers.
3. No.
4. It's not matter.

legend to sections.

there is also picture could have you to understand a structure concept more easly.
