The Leadenhall Building (the Cheesegrater) in London is close to completion. I really like this, I'd love to see something similar as an anchor for Ottawa's CBD. 736 Feet would make an enormous impact on our skyline without completely dwarfing everything else.

I'd take a little bit of this please.

And look, good architecture with good ground orientation!

Or Le Breton Flats... eh sorry... Pimisi Flats? Pimisi Station? Place with no geographically significant name? Place between Bayview and the Escarpment..?

I posted this a long way back, I think a Frank Gehry building would look good on the Kruger paper plant site next to the Museum of Civilization, with a large event plaza in between. Here's the Bilbao Guggenheim photoshopped in:

Ritz Carlton L.A. could look good as a new Rideau Centre hotel but just the tall tower. Obviously the rest wouldn't fit on the site.

I really like this building but I think it should be the whole thing and not just the tower part, I think the midrise section adds to it and makes it more interesting. Without it it would just look like a lesser version of the L tower in Toronto...

What about across the street from the Rideau Centre on the corner of Rideau and Nicholas? That building always looked very dated and begging for a revamp. Are the offices in the tower fully occupied (if yes, by who)?
It would be great to add that to this site.

The building was built in 1967 on 14 floors. There is a total of roughly 125,000 square feet of office space and 13,000 square feet of retail but I'm not sure if that includes the older buildings on the block. According to this site, there is 16,774 of space for lease.

I would prefer blitzing the Novotel Block (save the Albion) to build, anything really.

huh thanks for the info...

From the ugly dated look outside I was not expecting the "nice" interior and bathrooms. (Unless those are on 1 floor for "show" and don't actually depict the overall look of the interior...)

Likely won't happen but I would love a complete reclad of the exterior, or at a bare minimum the podium.

I'd like to see this too. I'd love to see it get a vertical-curved façade (larger at the base and smaller at the top - sorta reminiscent of these buildings in NYC (but curved on all 4 sides):

Solow Building

Grace Building

This is slightly off-topic here, but I saw this digital screen/public artwork ("Ring Celestial Bliss" by J.J. Pan & Partners) today on Archdaily - I'd love to see something like it in Ottawa (sadly, the residents would likely complain about the bright lights :S):

* I'm pretty sure that's Super Mario Brothers on the screen

Not exactly sure where this would go though...

Very cool! Was there not a "grid-iron" building going in at Bayview, north of City Centre? I think I'd like this building to replace that one. (what ever happened to that project anyway?)

Alternatively, what about just down the street by LeBretton Flats on the weird piece of grass where Albert and Slater intersect?

I like the shape of this, it would look great around the rink of dreams (at least we can do something decent with that space).
Hey, good call! They already do that Dance/skating Party there during winterlude - This would only enhance that experience, I think.

It could really liven up the Confederation park area - It'd be nice if it had the same kind of affect with the public as the Crown Fountain in Chicago's Millennium Park (heck, I'd even take one of these at the Rink of Dreams ):
