Make me think it is rentals only. Sad
What about rentals makes you say sad?

Because I am looking to purchase instead to rent. This would be ideal purchase given the location.

There is a 30 story Condo going up almost right next to Trinity Centre. Look up Claridge Hintonburg.

Oh yeah I am familiar with the development but Claridge has a not so great rep so was looking at other builders. However it seems most of the Trinity properties are rentals.

Welcome aboard. Admittedly, I'm living in the burbs now and not in the condo market but, if I were, I would definitely consdider purchasing at Zibi. It seems like a much more "complete" neighbourhood compared to Lebreton/Bayview and the designs are much more interesting. Location is spectacular as well.
Good luck!

If this development has condos, I would personally shy away from it. Very tall building + a lot of glass = sky high condo fees in the future.

I thought it would be neat to stick Trinity on the Toronto and Montreal diagrams to see how it stacks up to their 'built/under construction towers.'

Harley my man, thanks for this! It's crazy to see how tall it really is compared to every city when you don't consider Toronto. Being the tallest in Vancouver or Montreal and almost the tallest in Edmonton/Calgary is insane!

I really cannot wait for this to go up. It should help change how Ottawa is seen too once the other towers go up in the area!

Love it! Great comparison.

What will be interesting is how something this tall really changes the skyline from every angle. We already see it with Icon and this is about 30% closer to the CBD. Looking at downtown from the Convention Centre, for example, both Icon and Trinity blend into the background of the CBD.

I'm really hoping they still plan on building this. I'll be doubtful until the day i see shovels in the ground.

They have commercial tenants signed and the city is building a pedestrian bridge to the edge of the lot, I have a strong feeling it's getting built. Whether it is built as planned is what I'm not confident about, I keep waiting for them to crush us with a 20 floor chop or a redesign 'a la Lahey' with charcoal bricks and tiny windows.

If I can see it from my house, then call me impressed.

I lived across the street from Old Mill station in 2001 and could see the tip of the CN Tower... if I can't see this thing from my roof in Aylmer I will not be impressed.

Don't know if it was mentioned before but some of the retail has been identified and secured, they indicated what kind of building the others would be that havent yet found someone.

There's going to be a future pharmacy and future restaurant (about 5000 sq ft, so its big, curious but could be something like a JOEYs). BMO, LCBO, and Farm Boy are already signed on. Plus one more retailer on the largest towerr with 28k sq ft available on the second floor.

Thanks for the update! Nice visual reminder that, at the very least, this project will be bringing some much needed retail to the area, aside from the few businesses that already exist at City Centre.

How is the right intersection signalized? For the crosswalk?

I reckon it will be exactly like that one on Somerset, where cars continue to drive unless someone needs to cross and presses the crosswalk button. Only thing that makes sense there because there's really only one direction of traffic technically on the major road.

Anyone know if they are dedicating any floors to a hotel or observation deck? Something as big as this should definitely have a viewing deck for locals and tourists!

I'm just noticing the bikepath so maybe it will be a light for bikes and pedestrians.

I used to live near that Somerset crossing and hated using it. Drivers wouldn't stop at the lights no matter how long the lights were on for. Combined with the intersection and traffic over-utilizing Bay it made for quite a number of accidents and near misses.
