And what irks me right now is TicketMaster's recent change in their refund policy. It's a hot topic out there, google search. Essentially, they are not refunding tickets which are listed as 'Postponed'. That pushes the ticket holder to reach out to the artist themselves and request they 'Cancel', which is the only way to get a refund from TicketMaster. Will TicketMaster offer a refund once the new show date is scheduled after the Postponement? Who knows, but something tells me, no they won't. Hope I'm wrong.
If this is the new norm going forward, you can see this guy only buying tickets at the very last minute (within days) of a show date. This would be a horrible scenario for venues, ticket sellers and event managers if everyone started to do the same.
I think the policy should be simple. An event is scheduled on a certain date with a price, that's what you pay for. But if the date gets changed because of whatever circumstances, the ticket holder should have the ability to request a refund without question. Artists and ticket sellers should not hold your money hostage for 6 months as a wait and see reason.
