NEW YORK | Atelier (635 West 42nd Street) | 525 FT / 160 M | 46 FLOORS

I apologize if someone already started a construction thread for this building (I looked and didn't find one) but apparently the building is under construction. There is a big crane up on the site at 42nd street on the far west side by the Hudson River. Here's the SSP info...

http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=35184

46 floors
146 meters / 478 feet

Isn't that the 60 story convention hotel for the Jacob Javite expo center expansion? Or isn't it Riverplace 2? Whatever it is, is it that Silverstein's site? Cause I noticed that crane too, somewhere around there.

I just added the rendering so you can see what it is. Interesting, weird, etc.

This building is about 15 stories or so by now. Sorry, no photo.

Wow, only in New York City can a 46 story building be built without having a bunch of locals talking about it.

^ That's a compliment to NY and a diss at the laziness of the NY forumers at the same time.

I passed the tower today, a few blocks from it actually. Plan to take pictures of it in a week. There are also like two more towers going up within two blocks of that one.

Or, in all fairness, Chicago as well. There are 80 story buildings in the works and no renderings have even made it onto SSP.com.

The reason there has been no pictures is because this building is isolated from the subways, hence the 7 line extension, and there's really no reason to be in the area its being built in.

Excuse me? Where are your photos. Excuse us if we don't photograph every freakin building going up in the city.

I passed by the site last weekend, but couldn't be bothered to photograph it, there's a lot of residential construction going on.

You guys are cracking me up.

Stern and NYguy are both right though. There are so many residentials of 40-60 stories going up iun New York right now that it's hard to keep track of them.

Fantastic picture. Hearst is a nice juxtaposition to the TXSQ Tower. BOFA will juxtapose the Bertselmann Building and make the skyline look even more complete.

Yeah this one is going up very quickly! I really like this rendering... I hope the building looks good as that rendering. I think there two more towers plan to go up on the same city block of this one... but I am not too sure.

Well you are one of the few that doesn't apply there, duh

There are several very active NY forumers but as a group we are pretty lazy.

There's a very simple solution to that problem, my friend. I'm sure I don't have to tell you what it is.
