Steel for the next two floors now going in on retirement home. Apartment building exterior seems to have stalled lately with no visible progress.

Looks like they have paused work on the retirement home as no progress in the last few weeks.

I’ve been back in London since the pandemic started and have been staying close to this area, and I’m shocked at how much it has changed in the past 10 years. That was way out in the country when I was a kid, though I knew development would eventually go there as the City had been intending on it ever since “Vision 96”.

As a kid Westdel Bourne was a gravel road in horrific condition, and it was the “back way” to get from Byron to Kilworth. That was a fun road to ride on. Now you go up there to go to McDonald’s - instead of the fun of a bumpy road, you get the fun of a Happy Meal.

Quite impressive what’s going in there.

Part of why that area seemed so far out of town was how you had to get there out through Byron. Once they opened that bridge on Oxford St, it really seemed to bring that area closer to the city and now it's just a seamless transition.

Steel for 7th floor and penthouse is now going in on retirement home. Hard to believe but they are still working on the apartment building as well. Building a green net zero building sure is slow work.

Should maybe start a new thread however since there has not actually been starting activity thought best to update here. Also this is not Sifton but is part of the "West 5, Riverbend" area.

Looks like the Eve Park buildings are close to starting, full floor plans and more details overall are in the link below.

Sifton looking to remove holding provisions on land immediately west of the retirement residence on Shore Rd. Plan for 20 cluster townhomes.

Progress slow on exterior brick on retirement home. Still haven't started on south and west walls. The walking path to the west of current buildings has now been landscaped and paved. This provides a north-south route between Shore Rd and Oxford.

Little progress on the exterior of the retirement building. They have built and paved the road now between the retirement and apartment building. They also have tenants now in some of the apartments. The ground floor of apartment building appears to be commercial but is still vacant with no signs of any future tenants.
