I think the Habs should hire/sign only non-French speakers, and the Leafs only non-English players/coaches so neither team has to deal with their respective toxic media presence.

Brilliant move, that should do it!

In 9 years of mediocre Montreal Canadians teams, there's been one common denominator, and that's Marc Bergevin. How the heck hasn't he been fired yet?
I've been asking that question for years. I openly root against the Habs just because of Bergevin. They were my first favourite team because the '93 cup run was the first hockey I watched. If it were not for Bergevin, I'd have no problem with Montreal winning if it can't be Toronto or Buffalo.

Similarly, I totally root against Arsenal even though they're a club that's hard to hate (if you're not a Tottenham fan). I said when they hired Freddie Ljunberg as interim manager and then Mikael Arteta as permanment manager that neither guy is a proper manager for a club that doesn't have an elite squad. And Arteta kind of looks like he should be a good manager but really he doesn't have the personality or presence. A guy that sits on the bench with his legs crossed is not the type of manager Arsenal needs. So I root for Arsenal to fail so they can fire the manager just so I can be right and look smart even though I have nothing against him whatsoever as a person.

Bergevin similarly looks like he should be a successful coach or manager due to being handsome, for his age, and sophisticated looking. I also think he has presence, which helps others buy into what you're doing because presence can help you be very influential. But he just does not make very many good moves. He's made some real blunders.

When Babs was Leafs coach, I didn't root for my hometown team to fail, except when they were intentionally tanking. But for any other team I definitely want them to go 0-82 not only because Babs was a dick, but he was highly overrated.

We need to ride him while he's hot, as the next game could easily be lost by a weak performance by Koskinen.

McDrai are just too unstoppable this year. Oilers are going to steamroll their way to the Stanley Cup.

The rest of the team is extremely stoppable, though.

Edmonton probably won't last long when they matchup against teams that actually have a bottom six and six defenders that can all play a role. All defenses in the North Division are woeful.

Pretty sure the team was out drinking last night.

Bergevin is the main reason why I stopped following the Habs. Completely destroyed the team's core.

I am not going to waste my time on this continuous mediocrity. And after all my favorite players left (or got traded), there was no emotional attachment to the team anymore.

Montreal threw everything they had into that game but they don't have the players who can finish. As lopsided as the game was in their favour they didn't have a lot of serious chances and their only goal came on a very lucky shot.

The Jets couldn't get going at all but once it was 3-on-3 Montreal couldn't smother them anymore and it was over in a matter of seconds.

One more win in Edmonton tonight to leave the Oilers in the rear view mirror for awhile.

McDavid was pissed last game though. My (not so bold) take is that he comes out with 2 goals tonight. Who's the next Leafs D man to get embarrassed on his coast to coast goal?

^I'd say 3. He was not happy and lighting a fire under him is a good thing.
