Looks promising that they're moving quickly on the Warwick Hotel. Have they released any details on the redevelopment? Hope they do it right, especially as the city plans to beautify Duncan Plaza.

there was a rendering on city business at the time it was announced but i could never find it anywhere else. As for look well since its going to be historic tax credits its basically going to look the same on exterior .. hopefully a nicer color

I love the 2424 Tulane project. Have there been any announcements of what retail will be going in on the bottom? Also, any announcements of what will be going in the Parkway apartments (the one next to Blue Plate Lofts)? Two great projects!

Is Anything happening at the NSA site in the Bywater? Or is it stuck in development purgatory while the city looks for (new) funds?

who knows... the port would love to use a portion of it for cruising but the locals are nimbys and would rather a hulking unused structure next to them

Looks like Sean Cummings is selling off part of his proposed development site in the Bywater. Is the dream of Via Latrobe dead?
Or is he just trying to get some capital to develop the other half of that block and the entire block across Royal he also owns?

Any news on what’s happening with the third floor of Canal Place?

As someone who wants downtown to be a long term livable neighborhood, a movie theatre is very desirable. Any word on a new movie theatre development? Old New Orleans Centre, South Market, and Trade District come to mind as opportunities.

If we see a movie theatre again in the cbd im sure its likely to be somewhere else ... i had heard something about an alamo drafthouse a few months ago but nothing definitive

That would be perfect IMO. The Dave and Busters space would have been excellent for this type of use.

Alamo Drafthouse in the Trade District area would be a great addition if it ever came to fruition. Plenty of land to build on there, and it would serve as a destination for people from the surrounding neighborhoods.

This story is just wow! What simple mistakes the engineers made in the hotel (thankfully contractor caught them and was able to recitify them)...also my guess is once the canopy is far enough along that will be another lawsuit!
Been quite a few engineering mistakes from these national firms lately... they messed up the Dave and Busters Garage whoever engineered that and the fixes caused a delay of about 6 months.. thats a simple multi level parking garage! Worth a read for sure!

Wow! Very glad the contractor noticed the issues before this place opened. Really shoddy work by the engineering firm.
