This is great news I read that last week on silicon bayou news. Maybe google or one of their sister companies opens up and office in Nola since they have invested in a local firm and see the success of others. Maybe even buy the naming rights for the dome “Google Superdome” 😂 lol

I haven't heard anything recent. I know there was talk a while back that it would be a smaller building with mostly retail and parking to fill out the rest of the Odeon block. But now retail demand has fallen and the local residential market seems to be holding strong, bolstered by an influx of remote workers. It would seem that it would be easier now to get the council to bend the zoning to allow another high-rise, but that might be wishful thinking on my part.

I strongly hope is another high rise.... personally I hope it would be taller then the Odeon. They could build a hotel, apartments and retail all in the same building so personally I would love something taller, but I know I’m dreaming but hey it could happen

I really hope it’s taller then the Odeon and more glass, I like the mixed use idea maybe some apartments hotel retail and office combination. A new Conrad hotel or W hotel similar to the new one in Brazil would be awesome.

This New Orleans native is returning to run Harrah's at a critical time for the casin

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nol...d9d5e.amp.html

Harrahs New Orleans has tapped Samir Mowad to be its new general manager as it starts talks with City Hall and other stakeholders on a $325 million new hotel and casino upgrade.

Caesars Entertainment Inc., Harrah's parent company, said Wednesday that New Orleans native Mowad will return to run Harrah's after a five-year stint running Caesars' Iowa businesses, which includes two casinos, a convention center and a Hilton Garden Inn hotel, all located in Council Bluffs across the Missouri River from Omaha,...

The plan to upgrade the casino and build a new hotel was part of a deal reached with Louisiana and New Orleans governments last year in return for a 30-year extension of Caesars' license to run the casino, starting in 2024 when the current license expires.

Talks to hammer out the details and the permissions needed to start building were stalled by the pandemic. But Mowad said Harrah's officials were scheduled to make the first presentations of the plan to City Hall staff on Wednesday afternoon to get the project back on track.
