First I'd like to congratulate you for getting Kerk to work. I too just rendered some city shots, although it's not my first time rendering, it's the one I like so far (I rendered some houses and some pictures in La Corte). The post office looks great, both of them. But I think the first one is actually 5 stories not 4 since the roof (attic) may count as one since there are windows there.

Could be that it's not installed correctly or maybe you're viewing the city in wire mode or something.

k quick shot of the city so far. Update tomorrow!

the middle building on the tip is the new stock exchange.
built in 1883, it was the city's first ever stock exchange. it was established when the Elmtree Agreement was signed by 35 stock brokers outside on Barna Ave. under an elm tree which grew on the lot where the structure was built. It was the tallest building in the city for 24 years until the Library was built.

The renders are awesome. I love how historical Scottburg city is.

I have a suggestion. You should change the white letters to something darker, like black, so that they can be seen more clear on the renders.

Maybe a dark gray. I like the stock exchange, looks very classy and the glass roof looks kind of modern. Like it was added after a renovation. The thing I don't get is why it wasn't the tallest building for longer? The library looks shorter than the Stock Exchange building.

Oh, ok. I get it, are you gonna talk more about Western Bank? Iy looks nice, like a 1920 Art Deco building. I like it. And maybe we should get some rendered closeup shots of it.

Wow, you a really developing a good flow of buildings. I can picture that as a real city without a doubt. I like that your taking the route of lowrises at the tip of the city. It looks very neat and organized. Well done!

thanks everyone!

i'm sorry to push the update back yet another day but i got tons of homework tonight, but tomorrow for sure.

i will start painting the white lettering darker peter and aleks

Western Bank was established when brothers Hank and Rutherford West arrived from England with hopes of expanding their horizons by building a major bank in the "land of opportunity." When they arrived in 1922, they established a new organization they called Western Banking and Company . Two years later they had 9 branches in the northeast, and in 1925 they decided to construct the main headquarters right here in Scottsburg.

enjoy

^^^ It's a very attractive building, and the sign is a perfect fit.

It's such a nice little deco building. What's it look like on the other side?

Is that an alley behind the Western Bank? I have a great idea, since the companies grow, this one did too right? I think you should make a building between 600 and 700 feet tall (you can add an antenna to make it look cool) on the other part of the block. Make the street behind a little wider or if you don't want to make it wider, make the lot's of public space. And the tower should be glassy and shiny, then connect the new tower to the Western Bank Tower on that blank wall with a 19 story bridge. The bridge should start at the same height where the light gray windows in the front are and end where the light gray windows end.

And maybe make a long narrow park next to the red building so light enters the base of the tower.

Sure, click on the material you wanna make shiny with the select tool. Then right click on the material with the star next to it on the left side of the screen. Click on Edit Material. When the new window pops up mouse the mouse over the word Reflection. Right click on Reflection and a small sidebar will come up. Choose Add Color. Then another window will come up, select the eye-drop tool, move the mouse over the small colored box next to the word Diffuse and right left click on it.

The just choose accept on the color window, it will close. On the Edit Material Window click on Apply Changes and close the material editor window. Just render and WALLA! You have shiny glass.

The thing I will recommend is that you never use more than one color for your city. Always choose a bright color like pink then edit it to the color you want because if you want to add reflection to gray windows but you also have a building painted gray or the roads are painted gray, then those things will also render shiny. I didn't do that and now I can't render gray windows or else my roads, roofs, and the Nestin will look all shiny.

I would add some windows to the north side of the building to add interest to an otherwise featureless side

Unhappy

I don't know, the design really does look better if you look at it closely. Staunton sure is getting better.
