Coyotes NHL thread

there's a Suns thread so why not a Coyotes one. They are playing so well they are having a season like the Cardinals did in 2008. The eyes of the hockey world are on Phoenix and the players may just do well enough to keep the team in AZ despite what the business men do or fail to do. Go Yotes!

Coyotes are projected to lose another $20 million this year.

It's been a good run this year and much too long since they've made the playoffs. Hopefully we'll even see a first round victory!

Their last game was a standing room sell-out and the 10 or so games before that have averaged an 80% full building. They will sell-out their last three home games and generate a lot of revenue during a play-off run. Strangely this extra income could qualify the club for more money from the NHL revenue sharing agreement which requires improving revenue. The trend is up and they will stay.

They've lost over $300 million since moving to Phoenix and are still losing tens of millions despite a good year (Phoenix Business Journal). They're gone, maybe not next year, but they will leave Phoenix. (IMO of course.)

No they are not. Not next year, or anytime soon. Trust me.

The Yotes won tonight to clinch home ice for the first round of the playoffs (if there are any upsets in other series Phoenix continues home ice) and finished the season with 5 sell-outs and I believe the playoffs are already sold out. Also in the news today is Glendale will be awarded the 2012 all-star game if the new owner keeps the team in AZ.
