Newbie here ..hi to y'all ! Was driving along Douglastown blvd in Miramichi yesterday and was wondering if anyone knew what is the new construction on King George accross the road from the Giant Tiger ? Another construction site also between Miramichi Marine and Armour on highway 11 accross from the old airforce base ..any idea ?

Are they digging on King George? Think it was supposed to be the new Honda Dealership but that got scrapped last year.

Speaking of Honda, the one in Bathurst was sold to Groupe Olivier.

Also for Miramichi, re-zoning application for 725 old King George highway to permit 80+ units of town houses on the property.

For Eel River Dundee, Glowrope, a company manufacturing several glow in the dark products is setting up shop in the community, could see up to 30 jobs at the location. An ex-pat of the community is coming back home to open up the business.

Thanks ! When i went by there was no digging done but a lot of prep work with machinery on site , perhaps a car dealership !?

Possibly, i know Honda back then was blaming the city’s red tape for thwarting the project. Maybe things changed and its going ahead.

There is movement on the Pabineau FN gas station in Bathurst, a road has been built giving access to the property so things will get moving soon!

There are 2 permits for that stretch of road.

- One was to build the 2021 Big Brothers-Big Sisters Dream Cottage. Issued in late January. The cottage draw happened on June 21

- The other is to "Construct new 3m x 6m digital billboard sign for offsite advertising." Issued in May.

There are plans to build an apartment building on King st in Chatham across from King apartments , ground is already prep .

Subway in Beresford is closed, a sign across the road has popped up announcing a new location. Suspect we will se movement on that piece of land soon!

Only asphalt and landscaping to be completed at the hospice in Chatham. I'm hearing once they hire staff the 8 bed facility will be opening.

The bridge replacement is going to be sooooo nice, chop a minute or two on trips down to Fredericton lol

The courthouse reno was completed late last year. A mix of offices and apartments.

Bathurst will see a new pet store next to Marshalls, two names running around are either petvalu or petsmart.

Pet Valu is a franchise type store, so it would be locally owned, the only thing that makes me say maybe not is that it is a large space when you look at the rest of the Pet Valu around. If i’m not mistaken this a 17000 sf unit, they are generally 1/3 that size.

Petsmart could be an option, Think its around the size of other locations.

Ren’s pet could also be a contender, but have not heard the name mentioned.

Other news for the Bathurst area;

the land is ready for excavation for the new Nissan location.

The land for the gas station at exit 310 has been cleared, should see some land prep starting soon.

AJN wall panels in Belledune has been posting a few position here and there, looks like this project will take off soon.

Work starts on the new International Bridge in Edmundston

Looks like it's going to be quite the crossing. It's going to cross diagonally across the river too, so the existing Canadian Border can be used, while a new US border can be made.

Brian Bowes' aerial photo of the foundation work for the new Miramichi Honda building in Douglastown.

You can also see on the right where the former Miramichi Leader building has been torn down. Rumour is a gas station/Starbucks(!?)/Mary Browns going in that spot.

Edmundston Toyota is going to build a new dealership at that location. Rumours are that the old location could be replaced by a multi-level parking.
