I absolutely LOVE this project-it's ideal infill. Replaces a surface lot, its frontage interacts well with the street, has no on-site space dedicated to cars, and scales well with the neighborhood. THIS is the kind of project we need more of!

Kummer's $170 Million Downtown Clayton development has been unveiled and it is very underwhelming. Construction will start next year.

Dearlord.

All the flair of a circa 1960 public housing block. Scratch that, Pruitt-Igoe had more style.

Well, at least that it being built in Clayton, which is in St. Louis County, while the City of St. Louis is getting one of the more noteworthy buildings in the country not in one of the largest cities, One Hundred.

Here's another rendering angle of Benson-Hill's new HQs to be built in the 39 North Agtech/Science District.

This is great news for the local agtech community/sector.

Still, doesn't make sense to have horrible design standards in Clayton, either, as it legitimately functions as St. Louis' uptown along an unbroken, rail transit connected, pre-war built environment. On a personal note, I walk to this restaurant row fairly often and it's one of the few legitimate urban streets in downtown Clayton and it's getting cratered.

Pre-constuction work on 4101 Manchester along The Grove strip. It is wedge development where streets separate.

$12-million, 33-units, 7-stories

I like the redesign. It's very interesting. I pulled away from my from my computer and dared to look at the screen from different vantage points. It might look out of place on Manchester Ave. Looks more appropriate for Lindell Blvd. or downtown Clayton. It's a throwback to the chickier buildings of the 50s-60s. However, I like this more than previous designs.

Now I wonder about the materials to be used to build this thing. Missouri Limestone?

I was told that the design will be concrete. Limestone won't be used. The new design certainly is interesting. We should begin seeing the building rise around the End of June or Early July. The crazy design will begin making an appearence some time after that. Occupancy is slated for the Summer of 2020.

Well, at least there won't be too much street noise penetrating the inside.

Hmm. It appears the 4101 Manchester renderings have disappeared. I linked them all here.

A $25 million Aloft hotel is under construction in CORTEX-St. Louis' Innovation District. St. Louis-based Midas Hospitality and MC Construction are building the 129-room hotel.

It is the first hotel for CORTEX and the first Aloft brand in metro St. Louis.

WTF is the point of the oval area around the tree? Seems pointless and constricting to the tree???
