The deal may be dead but this project isn't necessarily dead. The City was going to partner with/ sell to a developer to make this project happen. I would think the City has enough tools and commitment to this project to push it forward regardless of the brow lands, if perhaps slightly tweaked in affordability structure

This article indirectly relates to this project, just a tidbit more or less.
With the sale of this Manor goes the money from Mohawk College to the city and thus allows for the all likelihood that this project comes alive, hopefully, as something we know this city needs more of without question.

Sorry guys disregard that last post, it says it was 10 hours ago on the spec online but then just realized the article is from 2018. I don't know what the deal is there, but it's safe to say we're probably still in the dark about this project. FFS.

Think maybe your spider senses were tingling as this was in CBC hours ago from Christine Rankin..
Really hope they keep that manor.

I saw what appeared to be a hole-boring machine. Perhaps there's behind-the-scenes planning for a development here we haven't heard about yet? I was thinking about how Community Living probably hasn't been using it for day programming during the pandemic, leaving the current building essentially vacant for over a year.

It was noted during last week's announcement, this site was given to HUPEG as well. I'm not 100% sure, but it seemed to be that while the entertainment venues were offered through a 50-year lease, this site was simply sold to the group.
