very nice photos of a handsome downtown!

For me, Brockville is that damned speeding trap on the 401. Got a $400 ticket doing 137kms/h outside of Brockville.

Wow, I don't remember Brockville looking as nice as that, although come to think of it that was quite a while ago.

Seems as though the relatively modern practice of Rest & Reno has really taken hold here.

Fantastic photos of an interesting town.... eastern Ontario is pretty cool. If it's okay with you, I might consider posting a few photos that I took (this summer) of the town.

Go ahead, especially if you have shots of the harbour and parkland along the river. I avoided that area since there isn't much going on there at this time of year.

Fabulous photos, Flar! I've taken photos of many of these same places, but you've captured them at their very best. There was one house you missed that's among my absolute favourites in Brockville:

And here's another favourite, which you included in your collection:

You'd asked for some river scenes, so here are a few.

And finally, an old Pentecostal church that's been converted into a wonderful B&B (called, appropriately enough, the Green Door):

Nice pics as always, Flar.

Last time I've ever pulled off the highway in Brockville was to stay in a hotel when I was moving to Ontario well over a decade ago. All I saw of the town was a bland commercial strip with the usual fast food outlets and motel chains, just off the 401. Clearly we should've taken the time to venture further.

I'm quite surprised at how substantial the core is. It's looks as if it's easily as big as the downtowns of 100,000+ cities down south (i.e. Guelph or Brantford). And the housing stock is pretty dense as well.

That song is actually "(Don't Go Back to) Rockville."

And yes, great pics!
