More and more I look at this, the foundation doesn't match the rendering. Anyone see a different rendering? Or is this rendering a go! I did see there was a reduction in the square footage for a smaller footprint. Please post if there is a change.

The foundation is complete and is waiting for what I don't know. I hope it's not tied up in IRAC!!

A major housing development is being proposed for a parcel of land behind the Charlottetown Mall.
Developer Tim Banks told CBC News his company, Pan American Properties, plans to build 300 units over the next decade on about six hectares off of Towers Road.
As noted for the Aug planning board meeting:
REQUEST TO PROCEED TO PUBLIC CONSULTATION FOR APPROVAL OF A
DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT PLAN AND REZONING REQUEST CORNER OF TOWER’S ROAD AND MOUNT EDWARD ROAD.

The development concept plan that has been submitted by the applicant contains a mix of buildings with varying density and uses. The plan includes:
- 1 four story apartment building containing 60 affordable housing units.
- 2 five story apartment buildings containing 88 market units.
- 1 five story apartment building containing 78 market units.
- 7 town house buildings containing a total of 36 dwelling units.
- 1 commercial health care facility.
Parking for the development will be surface parking.
Staff would note that there is no minimum lot area requirement for density in the CDA Zone. All density is approved by way of a development concept plan and a development agreement.

This all is found in the Aug planning board meeting set for Aug 4th.

Is this up by the power sub station? What’s it going to be? Would be nice to start seeing that massive area of land developed, it’ll really tie the amalgamated areas together.

No, it's the large vacant lot on Sherwood Rd between HJV on the corner and Island EMS.
It's a heavy truck maintenance shop and a construction company office both of which will have ancillary warehousing and outside storage.

Noticed there is some prep-work under way on the land that was staked out.
This was approved with a few conditions and building should start soon.

Arts Hotel Opens this August 14th

Glad this is finished, albeit two floors short.
With the opening of another hotel in Charlottetown, and another coming in the near future, the pressure is on the Microtel Hotel in Summerside. Wiith Charlottetown only 30+ minutes away, the prospect for a hotel in Summerside may be impacted. Anyone hear if the Microtel is a go?
