Can't believe the Canucks are back to .500 after the massive hole they dug themselves!

Was awesome hearing Bob Cole call a Leafs game last night! Maybe it's just nostalgia but I think he is still great. Did Jim Hughson call the late game like old times?

The only thing better than watching the Oilers lose is watching them lose to the Canucks, while sitting fireside in a lounge at a ski resort in BC

And they’re losing a again right now to SJ. What a happy Christmas surprise

Big night for us Leaf fans as Tavares takes on his old team. In the end it's just another game, but the extra drama always makes the game a little more interesting.

Flames are looking pretty good offensively, with 5 players in the top 40 scoring. If I were a Flames fan my concern is that most of the offence is coming from one line. They've played great, but one line teams are easy to stop in the playoffs.

Game 41: Canucks at Calgary

Lineups in practice this morning. Stecher and Baertschi back. Gaudette sent down. I personally can't stand Goldobin playing with Pettersson/Boeser. He shows a few flashes here and there, but for the most part he's poison on that line. Flames are one of the best teams in the league now and should have no problem dispatching a weaker team like the Canucks. Flames also have a chance to take the lead in the Western Conference, so there's that extra motivation 5-0 Flames in this one.

Eriksson-Horvat-Virtanen
Goldobin-Pettersson-Boeser
Baertschi-Granlund-Leivo
Roussel-Beagle-Motte

Edler-Tanev
Hutton-Stecher
Pouliot-Gudbranson

I wish both teams could lose as I hate both of them, so knowing my luck this one goes to overtime or shoot out. Not sure who will win at that point as it's a crap shoot in OT/Shootout.

Standings wise Calgary should win, but as all hockey fans know they don't play games on paper and the Canucks are playing well lately, losing only a couple of games recently to Tampa and Winnipeg - who happen to be two of the top three teams in the league. Calgary on the other hand has lost its last three games to teams at or below .500, so things bode well for the Canucks.

Boy, the Oil are sucking. When Hitch came in, I thought things were turning around and that he would get at least one good season out of the Oilers before losing the players and getting tossed next year. It feels like they are even going to get one good season out of Hitchcock.

To watch a rookie forward break up a 2 on 1 like that in ot was huge. As good as a goal. I have never seen a rookie with so much poise. He is better than McDavid.
