I hate to be a party pooper but isn't comparing night skylines worthless if the pictures aren't taken by the same camera?

This is more a showcase of good night photography rather than "best night skyline." A good camera can make 3 buildings look better than a bad camera capturing 100.

Or you just visit the potential candidate cities and judge for yourself.

Vegas will look awesome around the end of this year. Fontainblue will have opened and so will CityCenter and Cosmo. Economy permitting at least. Its going to look amazing.

Not sure if it's been mentioned already, but in Texas, I think Dallas' night skyline is the most striking. So many great lighting designs on their towers. Even their smaller buildings have some really nice lighting designs. Dallas' lighting designs really truly accentuate the building's unique designs. Oddly enough though, Fountain Place has no external lighting except for aircraft warning lights. Someone mentioned Houston already, and I agree their skyline is impressive at night (just saw it a few weeks ago and it's really impressive from the highways), but the lighting of their towers is very subdued. Even the tallest buildings have very little lighting. Even the most famously lit skyscraper in Texas, Williams Tower, only has a single beacon on the roof.

Muppet, that's a great post. The HK pic is beyond amazing, I've seen it before but I still can't take my eyes off it.

great post by muppet.

however, i take issue with paris.
No doubt it is a stunningly beautiful city. I stared at some of those photos for a looong time. I'm just not sure it really stacks up as a world class "skyline."
Maybe in a most beautiful city photos or in best aerial city photos.
