Shitty that the refs took away what should have been a good goal from the Flames with a ridiculously quick whistle, but you can't go 0-6 on the PP and expect to win too many times. Flames played a good game overall but there are still some weaknesses in their game, particularly the PP.

But god do I hate the HNIC announcers when the Flames play Vancouver or Edmonton - would it be so hard to stop fellating McDavid / Petterson for even one minute?

Them's the breaks. PP has to be better, any game you score two shorties you should win.

Petterson is starting to remind me of Gretzky, not a great skater, but superior vision and intelligence. The Canucks will probably over play the kid like the Oilers are doing with McDavid.

So far Petterson is averaging 18 minutes per game. Under 20 is fine.

You called it. I'm not overly surprised as Calgary has been slumping and Vancouver has been playing well. Interesting to see how the Flames deal with SJ who has been playing great lately.

Standings wise Calgary should win, but as all hockey fans know they don't play games on paper and the Canucks are playing well lately, losing only a couple of games recently to Tampa and Winnipeg - who happen to be two of the top three teams in the league. Calgary on the other hand has lost its last three games to teams at or below .500, so things bode well for the Canucks.

I thought they played well enough, but they don't look to have it going on all cylinders right now....kinda like the Leafs last night

Fire Chia!

Too special! Chia trades for player that broke McDavid's collarbone and put him out for 37 games. Even the Edmonton media apologists will have trouble swallowing this one. Not since Harold Ballard days has there been so much incompetence with one team.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a GM so gleefully and wholeheartedly tightening the noose around his own neck.

Chia is done after this season. What a buffoon.

Meh, firing Chiarelli won’t do anything. He’s just the next one up the chain so everyone’s calling for his head now that th coach has been replaced.

Katz needs to fire CEO Bob Nicholson. But he won’t because Bob is busy shilling real estate deals for Katz’s development company instead of overseeing the team. Katz doesn’t care because he knows the idiots in Edmonton will sell out the arena regardless of how they play. This team will continue to suck as long as Katz owns it

I think their performance against the Sharks shows they may be getting it completely back together.

Loving Benny and his amazing 'stache lately.

Rittich is out tonight, Smith will get the start against Detroit. Hope Smith takes advantage of the opportunity since Rittich has proved himself as the #1 now.

You guys have that too?? Both Canucks goalies are famous for the first shot on net going in. One reason why the backup got traded today.

Calgary has had it for years. At least as far back as Jonas Hiller.

Basically since Kipper left, the goaltending has been absolute crap.

I think Smith should have a good game tonight, he's a proud guy and isn't happy about losing the #1 job.

I'm really surprised the Flames only have 1 guy going to the ASG (Johnny Hockey), we have 4 players over 1 point per game, and Gio should be in the running for the Norris (along with Reilly and Burns).

Just one channel for the ROC would be awesome. I would rather see Montreal play hockey than more off season Blue Jays news.
Business is business. The west is a money drain by comparison. The only reason there is any local coverage is because the CRTC demands it to be able to operate in Toronto.

Wear that Blue Jays hat proudly.

Marner with the 6th most points, Point with 7th, Draisaitl 12th, and Monahan 14th all didn't make it. The NHL insists on requiring one player from every team which means some deserving players are always going to be snubbed.

Oh I get it. But even if every Toronto team had 2 channels dedicated to it that would still be less than today.
And it wasn't this bad years ago but it still worked out.
And it isn't like this in the states either.
