Aside from the THEATRE type attractions and nice stuff stemming from that, I did find that Stratford's geography also helps in making it an appealing place. The flood control lake aside, downtown appears to be on the confluence of 3 (2.5?) different land surveys askew at different angles, which has resulted in both the city hall/square setup and a downtown that encompasses multiple blocks in different directions and neigbhourhoods stretching off in radials. Most smaller Ontario cities have very... linear downtowns, which is fine, but can make for a less interesting places. Some of the other more interesting places also share unique layouts.

So the GreatScaper and I have combined to create a mega never-ending Victoria photo thread over in Found City Photos, mainly our own photos, but sprinkling in some found ones as well. Check it out here

And it is excellent! Thanks for providing the link. It is never-ending in the best way. It's a fantastic cityscape with a great scale.

Hintonburg, one of Ottawa's trendiest neighborhood. Served by Bayview and Tunney's Pasture O-Train stations.

Looks like a lot of new construction in Squamish! Love it there, prefer it to Whistler as it's more scenic - and I'm not into winter sports, lol.

Ok, a couple of Victoria pics from the other day:

/\ no one on the tennis courts, are they open to the public? I don't think tennis is really that popular in Canada, it's not unusual to see them empty or kids playing hockey on them. Interesting to see a couple of roundabouts there as well.

Super smokey today in Victoria from all the PNW fires - even worse than a few days ago. These two pictures are from Tuesday:

Not too bad in Vancouver. It could be better, it could be a lot worse.

They are public tennis courts. I'm not really sure how popular tennis is. Sometimes these pictures are taken at odd times, particularly in summer when it can be light out early in the morning.

I assume it's open since the public tennis court near my place re-opened the same time as other public park facilities. And in my experience, the commons tennis court gets lots of use.

There's a flag on both towers which are illuminated at night with spotlights until around midnight I believe. The feature was added to celebrate New Year 2000 They used to both be national flags but they changed both to NS flags around the time of the shooting and since then one was changed back around a month ago. Personally I think the red looks better in that setting. Maybe I'm just more used to it.

Thanks Vanman for the Squamish shots, definitely not a place that you see much of (or at all) on this forum. I am astounded at the amount of new development, it has a really decent cluster of density (in an appropriate form) for a town its size. It is a great spot and certainly more on the radar now (deservingly so). I wonder if/how/when it could start being counted in the Vancouver CMA? Anyone know how that gets determind?
