What is up with all that bent up rebar? It looks like they’re demolishing, not building.

Please tell me there is something planned for the surface parking lot directly across the street...

That lot was originally meant to be the first Israeli supertall, the long since cancelled Egged tower (which even has a diagram on this site).

The latest project for the place is a 65FL tower, and two years ago an old low rise building was demolished. However, there is no information about when they plan on starting construction, so for the time being it will remain a parking lot.

The good news is that the Surface parking lot in this picture is the last in the area which until recently had several.

The area in 2011, the nearest parking lot is the spiral tower lot with the next one being the the last one standing:

And how it looks now in 2022:

They are looking rather ready for a pretty massive concrete pour.

This is so exciting! I always stay near this area when I'm in Tel Aviv and I can't wait to see this tower rise out of the ground finally.

No idea what they are, but it's doubtful they are crane bases, they aren't anchored to the slab in any big way----just notice the nearby crane.

Bad news, ground water has flooded the building site:

https://twitter.com/kann_news/status...38116480729088

The water leaking then caused a sinkhole in the nearby highway:

I don't know how hard this is to fix, But surely it will delay the project.
